Last night

I thought we did well to weather their storm last night and seemed to be getting back on level terms in the second half, especially when Murray came on. Also thought Chamberlain was superb - he will go on to a much better club than Southampton very soon.

What I did think was quite cringey though, was our fans singing "We're f***ing brilliant, we're f***ing brilliant" and "THAT'S why we're top of the league" over and over on the train back, after a poor first half performance and very few chances, bar the questionable penalty. Southampton arrogant? Really!?

Taxi for Battipiedi and a SHRINE for Dunk please, who was superb last night for a player of his age and little experiance

Its great when we are completely dominating a game, and winning 3 or 4 nil, aka Charlton & Peterborough but otherwise agree cringe worthy, especially as some were singing it prior to kick off at Hartlepool.

My take on last nights game is 100% positive. The facts beforehand are sort of bleak. Apart from being top of the league, we have only taken 1 point from 6 from 2 un-fancied sides in our league, and have failed to beat a part time team from 3 leagues below us after 210 minutes of football. I really could see it all come crashing down around us, and fast - but then, as a BHA fan, being optimisitic about a promotion season is always tempered with the reality, and the fact I am always prepared to be dissapointed!

Add to this the fact we are playing the in form team, at their place where their recent results have been impressive. Then add in the fact we have just lost our star man (Kaz) probably forever, then consider one of our main defenders and midfielders is suspended, and consider the fact our captain might still not be feeling great after he had to be subbed at the weekend, this game really did have disater written all over.

Then, once the game begins, it is like trying to avoid the apocolpse whilst the USSR are releasing their array of nukes on and, only to find star wars isnt working and no one can find the key to the fallout shelter! (aka, El Ab off injured)

The rest is history. If anyone else does not think this performance we absolute heroics, and a massive point, please think again. This was massive, and the perfect springboard to launch another run of 5 consecutive wins (which if did happen, would likely leave us 11 points clear in January)

Even if things dont go great, a win against Colchester next week, should ensure we are top at Xmas, regardless.........
