It is not so black and white, is it?

During that time, we have lost some key players, changed personnel and there have been some key injuries. Many many teams hit a bad run of form. Oh I can't be arsed, you do not listen to rhyme or reason.

Did we need another thread on this sort of topic?

It is worth pointing out that 9 of those were on the road. It is not a great record, but there are many mitigating factors.

trying to be nice but all these threads are getting very boring as they all say the same thing, we know your feelings but many don't agree and constant posting with little new subtance is likely to piss people off.
I'm fully in support of DK, the board, Wilkins and the squad, I feel they are doing ok, not as well as I'd like, but we are in a transition stage and do you remember the first season back at Withdean when we were mid table with shite like Jamie Campbell!!!

There were also mitigating circumstances to mcghee's average start to the league one season last term.

(bows head, takes cover and puts on riot gear for abuse)

the difference to me with McGhee was he's been successful but was heading downwards, had fallen out with players VERY publicly and then the final straw was the stoke game where he played a loan signing rather than give someone experience and then said he didn't care about the match as we were already down

True. It was also quite clear that boardroom unrest meant that we were not able to back McGhee financially. I don't know why we have to go over old ground. McGhee is gone, most of us and the club have moved on.

I am not going to debate the rights and wrongs in the sacking of McGhee, but sometimes you have to go backwards to move forwards.

The treatment of McGhee should not be used as a yardstick for other managers. If you think it was so wrong, then why would you want to go through all of that again, only with a different manager?

If Wilkins was sacked tomoro and the Legend Micky Adams was put in charge, it would guarantee higher attendances for the rest of the season. On current form we are going down and if Luton hadn't been deducted 10 points they would be above us.

Over those 16 games our performances have merited more than what we have gained. With the playing squad and budget at his disposal I think Wilkins is doing a decent job. Some people expect miracles.

Not expecting miracles, just better results than 1 win in the last 8 and much better performances than what was trotted out last night.

and he's used the budget at his disposal and paid the largest fee for a plkayer since thgis club was in the First Division. So can we stop using the lack of a budget as an excuse, cos it just doesn't wash anymore.

So true! We have only won TWICE since mid december. A lucky last minute win against Bournemouth and a win against a crewe team with a poor away record.

The results dont lie. Since christmas we have changed from Unlikely Play-off contenders to the brink of a relegation battle. This is the second season running when the wheels have come off after christmas. A coincedence? Mmmmmm

Some of his baffalling tactics and subsstitutions beggar belief at times aswell.

Out of his depth.

Another slagging off for Wilkins from the stay-away brigade - there is a pattern emerging here

Wilkins is learning whilst we rebuild a team, don't think you can blame him completely for recent results. If we still had Hammond, Savage and O Callaghan would we have fared much better, I think so. The squad has been thrown up in the air mid season, not the best of moves by DK, although I feel it is the first part of a process designed to bring promotion next season. Screws us this year though.

But for how long can it keep being "next year"? Whilst I dont think its right to sack Wilkins yet, it will come early next year if things dont vastly improve.

Storer and Statto were there last night, so no pattern emerging. Or, if there is, it is from the attending brigade.
