??? What have you heard?

That seems odd. Hasn't he been training with the first team since the players returned?

Uh-oh... what's he said? Have one of the big boys come in for him?

Last year (albeit under a different manager) he posted this "Garner and greenwood on the bench for Man U . None of the BHA u18 team that beat the same players 3-1 in FA youth cup have ever been on the bench for any first team game , one club doing things right and one wrong"

But in the last few days he posted this about Ben White "Brighton haven’t really developed Ben other clubs have , doubt Liverpool will buy him but he won’t remain at bha as there is no pathway for him"

Given that Haydon plays in the same position, it doesn't sound like a father who has a lot of faith in the chances of his son making it at Albion.

If Lars is anywhere near as good as his brother, Leander, then he is a very good prospect.
It's not just the ability of Leander, but his whole attitude that is impressive, on and off the pitch. He was happy to sit on the bench at Wolves and play his way into the side when he had chance.
On the pitch he can fit across the back or midfield and as shown on Saturday is happy to get forward for a shot or two.

That's not a great thing to say about the club your son is at. He may have had a point last season but he is talking rubbish now. We clearly have helped Ben White to develop and loan moves are part of that. There is a clear pathway into the squad for him next season and Alzate and Connolly have shown it can be done if you're good enough.

Maybe he is a Leeds fan. Believes White was nothing and magically Bielsa turned him into the best player in the world.

Based upon his twitter account, he's a lifelong Albion fan.

Ahh it’s his boy isn’t it. You can understand him wanting his son to progress.

Thing is we’re now an established PL side. You’re going to have to be some player to break in. As it should be.

Maybe the lad should be loaned out next season.

I understand. And it probably was a result of frustration. However, I am not sure it is a wise thing to do.

And it's not even true now. There is a clear pathway developing for young players. Alzate and Connolly have played regularly this season. The club are investing a lot of money in the academy and have brought in a manager with a record of selecting young players in the team and improving them

Typical pushy football dad. Probably thinks he has his retirement all sorted out thanks to his son

Roberts is JUST 18 and still only about 4ft tall. Dad needs to calm down.

Yeah - very disappointing comments. Hopefully Roberts jnr is a little more patient than his old man. Might need a loan next season, to give him some first team experience, though.

To suggest there is no pathway for White is absurd - he's played successive seasons in L2, L1, then the Championship - it is a very clear development path - and nobody knows if there is a further (immediate) path to progression at the Albion, unless they have the inside track on our plans for Dunk, and for Duffy.

Its easy to throw names like Greenwood about, but it is much, much easier to give a wide forward player a few sub minutes, than a (physically undeveloped) centre-back, however good Hayden Roberts looks like he'll be.

Sorting him a loan at a suitable level won't be the easiest job, either, as not many managers in L2/L1 are going to risk a 5'9" (?) 18 year-old centre back. Maybe we should call Mike Flynn, and ask him to take the next Ben White?

Suspect we'll see a lot of these types of moves across the league in the next 6 months as clubs look to bring in young players before the rules change due to Brexit.

Apparently confirming the news, his agent Andres Dendoncker told Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad: "There was interest from the Netherlands, Scotland, France, Italy and England. And England remains a unique opportunity. Lars also wanted the greatest possible challenge for himself.

“Wolverhampton were charmed, but Brighton became really concrete, and Lars immediately had a very good feeling about that club. Hence the choice (to go to the Amex).

“He has been scouted really intensively by Brighton last season – especially in the Youth League, where he has done well. Lars hasn’t come out of nowhere, either. He also played a good European Championship with the U17 two years ago.

“We spoke to both the trainer and the academy manager and we felt they really believe in him.”
