I generally dont have a problem with buses at all except when they are playing block north street to let their buddies out. Then again that is poor design narrowing north street and not thinking how that would affect buses passing and pulling out of bus stops.

It's also an indication of poor bus planning - there are only a handful of routes that don't use North St so, given its narrowness, it's always going to be a bottleneck. It's a legacy from the days when so many people shopped in North St/Western Rd but there's been a decline in retail footfall in these areas.
The bus company should really be looking at using other routes - why aren't buses going up New England Rd and Seven Dial for example? Why don't more buses use King St? Why isn't OSR used more as an East/West route? One route that I've long thought would be useful would be Rottingdean/Woodingdean/Falmer Rd/Sussex Uni/Coldean Lane/Patcham/Mill Rd/Dyke Rd/Churchill Sq - that would cover big areas of population
A tram route from Btn train station down onto Western Rd and right along it through Hove would be marvellous. Too lazy to Google it, but fairly sure there used to be a similar tram or trolleybus set up through Brighton, and has been discussed on here before.
What amazes me as that Eastbourne features on the list of most polluted/poor air quality UK towns, hardly traffic-heavy, but I guess the ring road system and regular bus traffic being the reason.
