They used to OWN the home computer market but have been overtaken more recently by HP-Compaq, and with good reason. Well worth shopping around, avoiding places like Currys or PC World (clueless) and if you're not going to spend that much I would seriously avoid Vista. It says it's capable of running on a machine with 512mb of memory, but in reality it just isn't. Fancy and shiny it may be, but you forfeit the ability to do even the most simple tasks without waiting days just for those smooth window transition effects and supposedly increased security measures.

Most of those laptops all come with the Intel GMA900 or GMA950 graphics card.
If you think you're going to be running Vista or any type of game on those laptops, then think again because those graphics cards suck big time.
