Just beef up the memory. Runs like a dream. Now they've dropped in price they a match for any PC equivelent.

I'm thinking of getting an extra 256Mb for mine. What kind of a difference does it actually make?

Quite a bit - makes the laptop actually usable instead of a slug.

That said, the same applies to a low-end Sony as well. All computers can gain from doubling the physical RAM.

I think white polycarbonate looked OK a year ago, but has already aged badly, like all Apples hardware designs - good for a while, look crap when old. Just look at the RevA iMac.
