Right, myself and the little lady (God i feel so big now, hope she doesn't see it) want to get a new computer as our Laptop is on its last legs.

Now really we use it for surfing the web, she saves a lot of pictures and things and i do my work and footy club finances on it so what i want to know is.....

Will a netbook be able to handle opening up some large spreadsheets and picture files or should i stop being cheap and cough up an extra £200 for a new laptop?

Any advice would be much appreciated

I have a netbook and it would be able to handle what you want to do but storage is always an issue for pictures and the screen is smaller. I always recomment a netbook as an extra pc not your only one.

Samsung NC10 won the recent notebook test in PC Pro magazine. 1 gig ram, 160 gig hard drive, and choice of black, blue or white! £307.

What did they say about battery life ? It claims to be 7 hours - but what sort of usage is that based on ?

You can get netbooks now with 120gb of storage, runnining windows xp with 1gb ram. plenty for what you want to do.

That amount of storage wouldn't ruin XP:lolol:
But you could always add extra removable storage if required. But you can't easily add to the 1 GB RAM; the latest PCs have 4 GB, not far off the amount of
storage
my old PC has!
