I'm just reading a post TDF magazine article about Lance. His Personal Manager Bill Stapleton is quoted as saying:-

"Lance will be a corporate spokesman for the rest of his life........ Lance costs at least $150,000 a day", Stapleton says without batting an eyelid.

Trek bikes have gone from $30 million too $500 million, &, 30% of the US market, so it looks like money well spent.

After reading his biography I don't be-grudge him a single penny. The bloke is an inspiration.

Armstrong deserves every single penny he gets and more for being one of the most fantastic athletes in the world.

Imagine going to the docs and finding out that you have testicular cancer and your only in your 20's how would you feel, how scared would you be, would you give up or would you fight for survival. Would you really be bothered to cycle anymore?

Not only did he beat testicular cancer but he also one the tour 7 times and has inspired so many people. As far as I am concerned he puts a lot of other sportsman to shame especially the likes of Rooney and Beckham who are meant to role models.

And he's reduced the cycle racing season from 6 months to 3 weeks.

He fought testicular cancer which had spread to his lungs and his brain. I believe the doctors gave him under a 5% chance of recovery at one point. To be alive at all is an amazing achievement, but to recover and then win one of the most grueling sporting events on the planet a number of times is a miracle. After under going numerous sessions of chemothropy, to even suggest that he would take performing enhancing drugs to help him win a bike race is disgusting. Why can't people just accept that the bloke is a true sporting legend?

His recovery from cancer was inspiring but he made his name in a sport that is riddled with performance enhancing drugs.
