Looks like he’s getting the Derby gig. Good luck to him, good to see young guys getting the opportunity instead of the same older heads all the time and for him to cut his teeth at a lower level than the EPL. With Stevie G at Rangers too makes for interesting times.

Nothing against him personally, but good players don’t necessarily make good managers. He should be number 2 somewhere first, or start lower down the football pyramid.

If you were a Derby fan, would you rather a big name footballer with no management experience, or an up and coming young manager who has proven himself in a lower division (like Nathan Jones, for example)?

Anyway, I hope he does well and Derby don’t.

Poor choice from Frank I think, high expectation and the chairman has already said they will be slashing their budget, I assume have overspent and need to comply with FFP.

Not sure it’s going to be the right environment for him to start in, should have taken the Ipswich job.
