they arent big, but they are an average sized club... haven't they averaged around 15,000 in the bottom two divisions for around 10 years? I'd say they are a similar sized club to us IMO.
They have had 13/14k averages,but strangely the crowds are simular to last season so far,they had 12500 home fans against burnley on saturday???

They have won the equivalent of the premier league 3 times in row and won the FA cup.
So yes, far bigger than we could aspire to. It would take at least 20 years in the top flight to even get close to them in achievements.

That was all in the 1920's - nearly a hundred years ago. I don't think that qualifies them as major players today.

if we are still in the championship in 18 years (the age of the galpharm), i'd expect our gates against boring northern sides like burnley to be around that mark.

That's like saying Greece or Italy are world powers on the basis of their ancient empires. As others have said, great history but that means nothing 80 or 90 years on without winning anything else.

And surely we mention the charity shield thing only to wind palace up?
