Tell you what. There's some bitterness going on from one or two of the ones who left. This is the former captain...

Curious as to why the opponents are called Sporting Club Albion, but wear all the West Bromwich Albion branding.

Think they developed independently but are just only now being brought into the Baggies fold

I just didn't realise until today that several players had followed the manager out, or that there was evidently some acrimony involved. Let's not start speculating why, just congratulate the ones who- on the face of it- have achieved a fine victory against the odds.

Good for George Parris too.

Great win for the team, but frustrating that they now don't get to play in the league till next year (April I believe). The 2016 season is already ongoing as WSL2 plays a summer season, versus the Women's Premier League's winter season. Weird system.

Great result by the team especially after going a goal down.

George Parris is a very good manager. Big coup if he remains.

The WSL and WPL are separate entities - no promotion/relegation between the two - so the fact that one is a winter league and the other a summer league isn't so much of an issue.

It's only because the WSL is expanding from 18 to 20 teams that the winner of last year's playoff (Sheffield) and this year's (you) are being promoted and get a ten month close season as a result.

Normally, the winner of the WPL playoff wins nothing but a trophy, so that's an extra reason to be happy about winning it this year - it's the last year where promotion is possible! (Unless they expand the WSL further in the future.)

I'm happy as, with Brighton promoted and no team coming down to replace them, Charlton (who finished a very close second to you this season) are now the strongest team in the Premier South.

Well done to the Albion women.

just back from the game. Saw Matrin Perry, Tony Bloom and Paul Barber, too shy to say hello. It was a great game, really enjoyed it. The equaliser was a great goal and some nice stuff played. Always great to see an Albion team lift a trophy .:ascarf:

Oh wow, didn't know it was normally a closed shop. Generally I'm not in favour of that, but it does make the winter/summer divide make much more sense.

That is some performance from them.

Haven't played a competitive game for a month, lost their manager, top scorer, captain and best defender in that time, and go out and beat a team who've already caused them problems this season 4-2. They deserve huge credit for that.

Judging from that game, you'd never have known any issues.

They were superb from the beginning. They bossed the midfield in the first half, though in the first half looked a bit lightweight upfront. George evidently had a word or two with them at half-time, and they tightened up and improved even more. Four great goals, a great team ethic, and many tears of joy at the end.

Well deserved.

Tony Bloom, Paul Barber, Martin Perry and Chris Hughton all turned up to support them as well. A thoroughly professional performance.

Jay Blackie is a nasty bit of work. Bitter girl who we are better off without. Proper up herself advertising being a 'Captain of league champions' - yes love but shirked then when it really mattered

Really pleased to have been there today. Team played well, a little lightweight up front in the 1st halh, the other lot seemed bigger but our wingers took them on and a great 1st goal, almost like a Skalac!

2nd half we broke so well from the back, Kirsty Barton has been with the team so long and it all seems to hinge on her. The breaks went our way for the 2nd, Sophie Perry 'did a Knockhart' with her free kick then danced around the fullback to cross for the 4th.

We enjoyed it, the girls enjoyed it, a great day all round.
