It's sexist and demeaning, and I don't care if individual women think so or not. These kinds of things are absolutely undermining to the cause of gender equality.

If you're one of the men whining about having to change your behavior to make our entire society safer and less oppressive for half of all people, I really don't find what you have to add valuable. But by all means, if you're too God damn stupid and lazy to open a book and make even the slightest effort to understand what it's like to be from a marginalized population, by all means throw around the term snowflake all you like. I understand how much easier that is.

One of the most laughable things is the narrative that white men are now oppressed because the destructive patterns of abusive and oppression that have existed in western society in antiquity are coming under scrutiny for the first time in human history. Yea, it's much harder to be a white man than it is to be a woman who has a 1 in 4 chance of experiencing sexual assault in their lifetime. It's more difficult to have to not use demeaning terms to coworkers in your office than it is to experience a 30% wage gap just because of your gender. It's much harder to not street harass women than it is to spend every moment you spend in public in a state of hyper-vigilance. To think false rape reports is even close to being an issue of any kind of relevance compared to actual rape is obscene.
I bet youre a bit.of a munter , birds with views like.yours normally are :lolol:

The women I talk to who raise this topic say they are sick and tired of this subject especially celebrities and feminists and the media voicing opinions they don't agree with in their name .
Not out to cause an argument just repeating what I have heard from women I talk too.
Just think it would be nice if we could walk in another genders shoes for a week and then comment .

Just out of curiosity, are we all okay with misogyny? Are the moderators in this site okay with it?

I disagree with the misogynistic nature of some of the posts on here. That said not sure anything has been against the law, just unpleasant and a bit dated. We shouldn’t shut people out for different views, just like we shouldn’t have the nonsense no platforming we see at universities. They really should be the centre for peaceful and challenging debate not pretending other views don’t exist as should places like this

Society in general expects Women to make these types of choices and for their partners and employers to support them to do this however a few years ago when I wanted to moderate my hours to spend more time with my children I was met with a hostile response from my employer. I ended up handing in my notice and taking a career break despite the derision from my employer and some of my own family who couldn’t understand how a man would risk giving up a well-paid job and a career. I certainly didn't receive the same level of understanding that a Women would who wanted to spend more time with their kids.

A few years back I asked if could reduce my work to four days. My boss at the time, who was rather more forthright than most, basically said 'you're not female, you're not pregnant or coming back from maternity leave - so there's no chance'. And that about summed up the attitude then. Come the recession, and the first call for those who wanted to try 'flexible working' (ie: reduced hours) - I had my application in before they'd even created a form! Times have changed I think - in some sectors anyway.

I’m a 46 year old woman who considers herself to be a feminist. I don’t expect to be treated any different from men. But if someone holds the door for me, I would smile and say thank you. I think there is a misconception about feminism and that all feminists hate men. Which in my view is not correct. I have a basic rule of respecting people who respect me. I don’t care if they are male or female!

Equal treatment for all is egalitarianism, not feminism.

Yes we see feminists attacking other women all the time. Common thing, sisterhood only exists as long as you agree with the screaming left wing harpys.

Can we also tackle the issue of gold digging hos in society? It's an epidemic.

White men have been oppressed for a long long time. Only idiots group them all into one big group.

Do you think you are more oppressed than all the Jewish men the Germans killed? What about all the Irish men who were oppressed, you're more oppressed than them too?

Go to a war memorial and see all that female privilege for all it's glory when you read name after name of men killed while the women had the good fortune to not have to deal with such horrors. White male privilege indeed

Your retelling of history is horse shit.

This thread seems to have turned into an oppression willy having competition (excuse the pun). we're more oppressed, no we're more oppressed. ****s sake can everyone just stop oppressing everyone :)

Keep them fighting amongst them selves is a tried and tested way to keep people down.

It will be a very sad day when militant feminists wipe out chivalry. Many women, infact I would guess from my experience that most like to be treated like a lady. Also there are plenty of men who enjoy being chivalrous.I've never had it backfire on me.The militants do not speak for the majority. Before they spout off they should do their research and find out what women really want. Feminism seems to be an issue for a small minority but they seem to have a big voice and they are using it to drive a wedge between men and women.

Yes if touching someone's knee is now viewed in the same way as rape.

In the old days a man would persist with a woman.Woo her,ask her out, send flowers, letters, buy her chocolates. Now if you do that
you will get busted. These days even to ask someone at work for a date could seriously backfire.Whilst you couldn't get arrested
the woman could report you and try to make a case for sexual harassment.

My girlfriend started a new job recently and a guy persisted a little with asking her out. I told her to report him.
A woman should be able to go to work without being harassed especially if she is my girlfriend.

So once bemoaning the new order, you encourage your girlfriend to take full advantage.

I have not read the rest of your posts on this subject that some seem to be getting wound up about, but I have to say I cant disagree with a lot in this post.

It would indeed by pretty sad if holding a door open for a lady and saying ladies first or pulling out a chair for a lady to sit on is considered anything other than being a gentlemen.

I do believe that the large majority of women enjoy being treated like a lady and appreciate it.

Its something I will never stop doing regardless.

It would be sad. We all want the same respect, trust, acceptance, appreciation, approval e.t.c. Our male/female ways of showing we care and love each other are slightly different.

Men let ladies go first to show respect and receive appreciation and there is nothing wrong with it for most of us.
