Players were turning up to practice on monday still intoxicated from the weekend.

Slade could only fine the players £200 becuase it was not before a match so for most of them it's not a massive deal and they continued to do it..

also only 4 of the lads have called up slade to wish him all the best for the future..

seems he was too nice and the players lacked respect and walked all over the guy.

presumably 4 that want to keep him sweet for a possible move to Grimsby

Wouldn't be surprised.

For a business, and a profession, football does seem poor at this level.
It might explain why less 'professionals' go from the lower divisions to the Prem, and that top clubs capture them from abroad, or as youngsters before they collect bad habits in their game.

well Booker, White and Slade all went into training on Monday to say their goodbyes so its unlikely only 4 players spoke to him???

i imagine Dicker, Tunnicliffe and Bennett were 3 of the players who called him. Also by all accounts Dicker and Bennett are 2 of the more professional players we have

If you were crap at your job and your incompetence caused your manager to lose his job, would you phone him?

There's been serious with some of the players since Wilkins was sacked and neither MA nor RS were able to deal with it/them.
The new manager will have to nip this in the bud pronto.

ps If this is true (& it wouldn't surprise me in the least tbh) then it's a bleedin' outrage! I hope the new manager breathalizes most of 'em every morning if they can't act professionally. Definately a case of Piss(ed) (&) Poor show.
