If you don’t think the situation is a concern you either don’t understand football or are a plastic fan who doesn’t really care.

Dear oh dear. I really hope you paid for the "Trolling for beginners" course you signed up to using a payment method that will let you claim the money back. Any troll worth their salt knows you can't open with the "I know everything about everything and anyone who disagrees with me is stupid". Because then you leave yourself nowhere to go other then the plastic fan/doesn't understand football retort. That is the equivalent of Fool's Mate in Chess. Subtle - at all times subtle. Keep trying and you might get beyond the second page before shooting your load.

We are a funny lot aint we We are watching possibly the best football We have ever played With a team full of home grown youngsters A team full of internationals Who are starting to get the plaudits we deserve And yet we still moan Be happy for Christ's sake Sit back and enjoy the ride

The thing is I agree with you, I agree with everything you say and am absolutely thrilled how we are playing and the way the club is run. That’s what frustrates me though is that despite all the wonderful work the club has done we are one bad injury away from potentially undoing much of it and I struggle to understand it.

Here’s a wee tip for you. If you are going to try and act the funny poster make sure you don’t get your facts wrong. Makes you look a bit stupid doesn’t it?

It really doesn't. I replied to your rant in a way I saw was befitting. It's my opinion but you may well believe yourself to be correct.

I try and be a positive poster but I am finding it increasingly difficult to understand the clubs position in relation to our attacking options. On the bench today we have no forward options at all. It’s just not an acceptable position for a premier league club aspiring to be more than just relegation battlers.

I look at clubs that we consider realistic rivals and they all, and I mean all, have greater strength and depth. Look at Villa, Sheffield United, Newcastle, Burnley. Southampton, West Ham, all have three four first team strikers to call on.

Look at the number of games we have in December how can we possibly think we can survive that with two strikers, it ridiculous.

I know this topic has been done to death and the usual posters will be along to defend everything the club does but on this topic it simply Is not good enough. I understand we need to be prudent in our financial dealings given the pandemic but if the situation is so desperate that we need to tackle a compressed season with only two forwards then someone should say so.

Our forward recruitment since we joined the EPL has been poor. We are now almost immune to it and how does the proverb go; insanity is doing the same thing over and over and hoping for a different outcome.

Anyone who doesn’t think we would benefit from having at least Murray as an option on the bench today is deluded and is blind to a real issue.

Yeah do one you ice it’s not our fault Roy is 73

Your post history makes for interesting reading, sweetcheeks. A higher percentage of posts about lack of strikers/poor recruitment of strikers/our strikers are no good/Murray is God than Chelsea had possession against Palace. E+ - Must try harder (Or not try at all)

There are a number of factors here that you need to accept:
1. Potter does not rely on the traditional big number 9 he prefers his strikers to be be more mobile technical players.
2. We are not a bottomless pit in terms of cash and strikers are bloody expensive.
3. Not everyone wants to play for Brighton despite what some people seem to think there are other options.
4. We are on a long term plan not a "success at any expense this season".

It’s because I am concerned about it and as a fan have every right to say so. Look back a just a little further then but hey that doesn’t suit your childish agenda.

Sort of agree and I definitely don't like having 2 left backs on the bench but Zeqiri is that other bench option ( to replace Bernardo on that bench I hope ).

But more emphasis needs to be given to the need to be prudent this summer...

I'm thinking of running a poll on Tuesday after the international/PL-PL window has shut... use 5-10 million to buy a football league striker, or use 5-10 million to bail out the football league ?

I would hope we have an emergency recall option on Gyokeres, and maybe Murray too, they’re both loans?

Andone could be fit by Xmas, it’s actually not that many league games away.

There’s a pandemic on, Uncle T tends to cut his cloth accordingly. With the history of our football club, demanding signings in uncertain times isn’t a great look for us tbh.

It would be great to have striking backup, can’t deny that but is £23m and high wages with all sorts of sell back clauses for what is really an untested youngster where we should be?

P.s if we do end up signing a striker before the window closes I will be delighted to eat humble pie!

Joe Cole was just waxing lyrical about how much Zaha would like to play for the Albion, how much freedom he would have to attack, how Palace were sucking the life out of him. Fair analysis.

Having an opinion is one thing, saying anyone not agreeing is deluded and blind is another.

Do we know if Murray has an emergency recall clause in his loan agreement?

Good point although we don’t want to be that team that always deserves a win but never do because we didn’t sign a top level finisher. It will get very frustrating knowing that extra recruitment would of made a huge difference.

I agree and I am certainly not advocating spending £20m on an untried youngster. All I know is I am concerned by the lack of options. I would even have kept Gyokeres as at least another option even though I am not sure he is quite ready.

The days of recalling players outside of transfer windows are long gone.

If he has a recall clause we can't use it until Jan 1st.

I only respond like that to people who accuse me of being a Palace fan. See my other responses on this thread to those who take a reasonable tone as I can see others viewpoint.
