Ask yourself why Rees-Mogg and Farage get so much airtime when one isn't an MP at all and the other is just a backbencher.

I'm not looking to debate the point being made here, but those two gentlemen get a lot of airtime because they have been involved in so much that is newsworthy. It really isn't much more complicated than that.

Agreed it is all to do with "newsworthiness". Widespread and entrenched racism in the Tory party is not a story to put on a front page or make a headline - people would just shrug their shoulders.

Far more interesting to make news stories out of anything that can possibly be presented as contradictory to Jeremy Corbyn and Labour's anti-racist and inclusive drive for social justice.

Like the 18 Tory candidates suspended for racism, and discrimination. Heard a lot about that ? I think that is just as newsorthy.

https://evolvepolitics.com/eigtheen...pended-for-racism-and-abuse-last-month-alone/

And just to emphasise: these 18 suspensions don’t even include Tory Party members – these were elected Tory politicians and prospective Council candidates. The scale of the Tories’ problem is truly undeniable. Yet the party have no plans for an inquiry, and are being given free-reign to ignore calls from the biggest Islamic group in the country thanks to the mainstream media’s pitiful failure to report the truly despicable scale of the Tories’ racism problem.

I like Keir Starmer a lot, however his part in the utterly ridiculous trial of Paul Chambers is a significant blot on his copybook.

Keir Starmer MP, Labour’s Shadow Brexit Secretary, speaking ahead of today’s debate on the Government’s amendments to the EU Withdrawal Bill about exit day, said:

“This is a desperate gimmick from the Prime Minister. It’s about party management not the national interest.

“There’s no dispute that Britain will leave the European Union in March 2019. Labour voted to trigger Article 50 and we did so knowing that we would leave the EU within two years. That means Britain leaving the European Council and no longer having Members of the European Parliament.

Brighton factually.....
So for someone who pays little attention to the fine details...

Are Labour the party that did not take a firm position on Brexit, are now saying they will vote down any deal for Brexit and offer another vote without or want a general election ?

If that is it in layman's terms, then surely they not acting in the nations interest just a desperate act to gain power, then they will probably oust JC.

A secure job for life, pension, sick pay and reasonable money. Not many people can say that these days. They do a fantastic job by the way and deserve every penny.

After 17 years and some band 'promotions', in reality £28,000. Hourly rate gross £14.35 and just in hand £10.52. For many years now the pension is not the guaranteed 2/3 final salary non-contributory scheme it once was - 9.3% of wages are taken in employees contributions to the NHS scheme.

The job is technical now (not the ***-wiper and making beds image of 1960's British movies), including use of medicines and advising.

Nurses stay in the profession for the love of the job and caring for patients.

Many of us, me included, make a multiple of that money in other professions.

(THIS IS NOT AN ANTI-TORY STATEMENT, AS THOSE NURSING CONDITIONS WERE SIMILAR FROM 1997 TO 2010).

Might be popular with the 20 somethings who joined up in their thousands to get JC elected, not so much with the working class in the North of England.

Labour are absolutely acting in the nation's interest and specifically in the interest of the millions of people who would be most vulnerable to the negative economic effects of Brexit.

Don't worry. The protectionist bullies running the Labour party won't allow "remain" to be on any ballot paper regardless of what the Labour rank-and-file membership and regardless of what that idiot McDonnell said about the wishes of their membership.

You have more faith in the SWP bullies running that party than I do.

Seemed popular enough with the transparently "working class" union leader who followed Starmer at the rostrum. He spoke passionately about the interests of his members and the need to address their concerns - but not by taking away their jobs and wrecking our economy for a generation.

They can't be trusted on Brexit, and they don't give a shit about their old voters either, hence why I will never vote for them ever again.

I know it's Sky, but...

https://news.sky.com/story/jeremy-corbyn-would-be-incompetent-brexit-negotiator-poll-11508078

Jeremy Corbyn would be "incompetent" in Brexit negotiations with the EU, a majority of people think.

A Sky Data poll found 22% of people thought the Labour leader would be competent to negotiate Brexit, compared to 71% who thought he would be incompetent.

The figure was slightly more positive for Labour when asked if the party would be competent in striking a deal with Brussels. A quarter of people - 25% - agreed Labour would be competent, while 68% said it would be incompetent.

This is an interesting point that is worthy of expansion.

Which of Labour's policies do you feel would be the most damaging for their "old voters"...?

Not a union leader of one of the unions that support Brexit, so no surprise there.
