First election I will be voting in as a Hovr resident (having moved from Mid Sussex). Labour will be getting my vote for the first time. Good luck to him, seems to have a lot of support down here.

when I was working in homeless services we used to use both him and Lucas regularly to escalate issues with clients (never Kirby as he usually couldn't be bothered to reply properly) and both were fantastic- particularly with issues regarding benefits

I have a close friend who has regularly dealt with the local MPs (and prospective MPs)in the city over many years. Kyle and Lucas are the only decent ones she talks of. In her opinion Kyle should be destined for big things in politics but his non support of Corbyn will prevent this for new he time being. Hopefully he will get in as politics aside I just want a decent MP representing me in parliament regardless of which party they affiliate with.

Has anyone had a positive result in dealing with Kirby? He made himself scarce during the rail strike and, from talking to people in his constituency, he's been absolutely useless in dealing with his constituents. The guy's favourite to hold his seat so someone, somewhere must think he's doing a good job but I'm damned if I can see it.

Everywhere round me (in PROPER Kemp Town) are displaying labour posters, and I've not seen any Tory ones at all (not necessarily a sign but I feel it's an indication). I can only imagine he's massive in the suburbs but with the Greens not standing and Lib Dems not really bothering here I think he'll do VERY well to beat Labour. He seems like a very lazy MP to me

Spot on - some firms don't even have a specialist odds-setter for politics, they just draft someone in from elsewhere when necessary. Ladbrokes were actually advertising for a new politics odds-setter on Twitter the other day, must have been caught out by the snap election. All they can do is run the national figures into a model, base the odds on that and then look out for anyone trying to have a big bet on an obvious rick.

Several books have cut the price about Labour in Kemptown today, now down to evens versus 4-5 for the Tory, pretty much a coin toss that will depend on turnout as much as anything.

Kyle is now clear fav to win Hove, having started out at 3-1 against (ie. 1-3 the Tory).

He stood up the Politburo leadership and the physically intimidatory attempts to hound him out by the Trot's who tried oust him (who were then quite rightly ousted by the Politburo).

So fair dues to Kyle, he's his own man and hasn't shifted his beliefs to those of the bullies.

He deserves to win.

Apply for a vacancy I suppose, but you'd need to have a fair bit of experience for one with a major firm. Never really thought about it but I'd guess most odds-setters and traders start out as trainees, & you'd probably need an A/A* in A-level maths at the very least to get a foot in the door.

I think I'm a bit too old to apply now. But it's not something I considered when I left uni but it would have been a perfect job with my interest in gambling, politics and maths as part of my degree. Too late, too late ...
