The ball was travalleing so f***ing slow that the deflection meant nothing

Nope, just seen it, Kuipers can f*** OFF if he thinks that's the defence's fault. 30 mugs if they think the same.

absolutely GASH goalkeeping.

Yes - a deflection that not only changed the direction of the ball (towards Kuipers) but took all of the pace off it too.

That was kuipers fault imho. Deflection or not it was rolling towards him at about 1mph. I could have saved that for my 4 aside team!

It will be interesting to see how the Pro kuipers mob defend him on this one. I remember certain other goalkeepers (in particular an Irish one) Who made erros just as bad and were hounded out of this club! Im not anti FDM but I think Some people on here need to remove the tinited specs!

If it took a deflection and he dived at full stretch and still couldnt reach it, I would have understood, but because it only took a small deflection where he was able to dive over the top of the ball travelling slower than The Argus news reporters, it was his fault

Not forgetting the two stupid half hearted tackles by Elphick and Virgo just before the shot, which if they went in with passion, the ball would have ended up by the halfway line

Yes his fault im afraid.

However mistakes are made and the thing that really pissed me off was Kuipers reaction and the way he set about blaming Elphick and Virgo for he goal.

I agree they should have cleared the ball before but he was left with a very simple save to make and dispite a deflection he made an absolute hash of it

May have something to do with his entire body weight going the other way.

Precisely. Many who have never kept goal in their lives would never understand that, though, and won't want such technicalities to get in the way of a good rant.

If your weight is going one way and there is a deflection the other it is often impossible to change sufficiently and you can do nothing about it. I'm surprised he got as close as he did.

However, he was at fault for the second goal as she should have come for it and cleaned out anyone in the way.

There were many others who made far more mistakes than FDM. Where's the poll about Nicky Forster?

Kuipers never seems able to release a ball quickly when the team have an advantage for him to do so, he has to hold onto and hug the ball, until advantage is lost, there is no flowing football with Kuipers in goal. His high ball 'flapping' is horendous. Rightly to be dropped, Smith to be given a run in the first team.

In fairness, the few times this season I've seen either a quick release from him, or an opportunity for a quick counter after winning the ball, it seems like the team doesn't get forward fast enough, even when the ball is outfield.

In fairness, if he released it early, what we do with it? Let's be honest, it would either be hoofed from one side of the pitch to the other in the hope of gaining a throw or we'd lose the ball in midfield.

Should have saved it. He seems to inspire absolutely zero confidence in our already fragile defence this season.

There was a shot in the first half that had the crowd holding their breath as he looked momentarily to have dived over it too. You only have to look at the defence's reaction to Oldham's first goal to know they thought Kuipers screwed up.
