May I just say, I thought Mr Smith would claim his No1 jersey but once again FDM has proved me wrong, time and time again we've bought new goalkeepers in and I've been convinced he is dead and buried, but EVERY time he wins the shirt back.
FDM.

I wish someone had seen it coming.

Kuipers amazes me for a few reasons. 1) How loyal he is to the club and to the fans. 2) How everytime we sign someone else, people forget how good our #1 is! 3) He is a beast of a man, but is so gentle when you meet him. Top geezer, our #1 for the next 5 years.

Yep, it's great isn't it. We have an excellent keeper in Michel Kuipers, and have a young home-grown talent that is able to stand in for him when injured, and start to provide serious competition. So what do we do?

We let him do on a free and spend quite a lot of good money on another GK who is able to stand in for Michel when injured, and start to provide serious competition (we hope).

Seriously feel a great big 'DOH!!!' coming on......................

I don't at all think it is a negative that Slade now has two great 'keepers in the squad. Fair play to FDM for playing so well, and fair play to Slade for giving the shirt to the most on-form of the available 'keepers (it would have been very easy to simply hand it to the new signing). However I'm not sure he'll be the man in possession come Falmer, so the signing of Smith can only be a good thing. Of course, the great man may yet prove me wrong. Long may this kind of form continue.
