Kuipers has made a mistake so lets all slag him off. No lets not. he has kept us in games for many years with some world class saves so lets not all cry after 1 deflected goal. he is a hero at this club and he is a key player

Motherwell has a population around 59,000 around the size of a modest English non league club. Average crowds around 6,000. Let's not get carried away by his SPL pedigree. One goal deflected in by Virgo and one let through by a slack Elphick doesn't make Smith better than Kuipers yet.

when you have 2 slow slow hoofers in Virgo / Elphick who cant tackle or mark at centel back pplus El A at left back who is bound to make one major fck up then you cant blame the keeper

I actually thought Kuipers had an OK game on Saturday by his standards. His kicking was the best I've ever seen from him, I think there were only 2 duff kicks all game.

He was partially at fault for both of the goals though. The first goal should of been saved, I don't give a shit that it took a deflection, it was going at 2 miles an hour. The 2nd goal was ridiculous, I don't think he could have done much about the shot but it's his job to make sure everybody is being marked up properly at set pieces - what, couldn't he see that Oldham player 6 yards in front of him with not a defender in sight?

Smith's time has come and not a moment too soon.

Sorry... after seeing the two goals tey should both have been saved. The deflection were early and made little difference.

Time for Smith and keeping Kuipers just lowers my estimation of Slade more.

Agree with that. His perseverance with Kuipers is staggering. Reflects very badly on Slade's decision making.

There was a group of players 10-15 yards in front of Kuipers, he can't blame the deflection he had more than enough time to get to it.

Guess what he did after his cock up? Thats right blame someone else :wozza:

I do rate FDM but maybe it's time Smith was given a chance.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I also rate Michel but Saturday was his poorest performance for a while.

The defence needs to be sorted out (not sure how) so might as well give Smith a chance although personally I don't think he's as good as his Scottish reputation would leave us to believe.

If he does play I hope he has a blinder and deserves to keep his place.
