So after two assured performances is it time to give John Sullivan a good run in the side or when he is fit should Michel Kuipers go straight back into the starting eleven

Sullivan didn't have a lot to do today (saves wise) but he looked very comfortable most of the game. Isn't it a case of keeping the shirt?

His kicking is so much better then FDM. He didn't have much to do today, but his commanding of the defence aswell as claiming for the ball was good, he deserves long run in the first team.

Agree, his kicking today was very good. Give him a run of games and his confidence will continue to thrive.

Boys done good so far.

I don't think everyone realises quite how well he did today. Yes, there wasn't a lot to do but with his lack of first team games he coped incredibly well with the conditions. Takes crosses comfortably and lookes very assured.

Give him a run of games I say...

There's definitely an argument for keeping Sullivan in the side - I really like FDM and there are countless games he has kept us in it and salvaged valuable points, but there have also been occasions when his dodgy handling and erratic distribution may have cost us.

Sullivan looks commanding in the box, catches crosses efficiently and in general his kicking and distribution are much more reliable. Let's see how he goes if he plays against Derby. It's good to have some genuine competition for the shirt again.

depend sif micky operates the keep the shirt policy.

Kuips is number 1, there is no doubt, but Sully has played very well and is a terrific number 2

100% agree.

I remember going to cup game at Spurs and thinking how different it was to see a keeper actually find his own players with his kicks. Sullivan was doing that today and I thought it made a massive difference personally.

I think Kuipers is a brilliant shot stopper, but when you get a keeper in the team who can actually initiate an attack you realise what we're missing alot of the time.

What a load of bollocks. Kuipers is an experieced keeper with hundreds of games behind him. He has just played 70+ consecutive games, he is playing as well as any time in his career and he is out of the team due not injury rather than loss of form.

Sullivan has played two games and in all honesty hardly had a save to make today other than a couple of crosses. I'm a big Sullivan fan and believe he should have given his chance long before now. I think he has done OK in his couple of games but it's crazy to call for him to be our No 1 keeper just yet.

But Sullivan has been great the last two games. Surely dropping him just shows that even if he plays well he'll never get a good run in the team.

I far from anti-Kuipers. It's just that pretty much every time time we've have had other keepers I've realised how being able to find a player with a kick or a quick throw out is a dimension that we usually lack.

If Kuipers was able to do that well and consistently, he wouldn't have been playing for Brighton over the last few years. He'd be playing at a much much higher level due his undoubted shot stopping abilities .

Sullivan is our new number 1 now. Lets forget about Kuipers.

Made me laugh in a different thread when somebody said that he was very supportive of Sullivan. Just wait until he realises that Sullivan is a big rival to him, he'll soon start praying for him to make mistakes as he has done in the past.

When Kuipers has recovered and is fit he should be back in goal.

2 games, 2 wins against quality oppo. Keep him for his 100% record alone, he seems to be bringing us good luck! Also the potential for some clean sheets in the next few games, could do his confidence even more good

Why?

Sullivan has done nothing wrong. He should keep the shirt definitely.

Because Kuipers is no1 goalkeeper. As well as Sullivan's played, he's there to fill in and I'm sure he knows that. That is the job of the no2 keepers.

There is a very strong argument for letting Sullivan gain the experience he needs even if it is a run of 6 or 7 games due to the money it will save the club if Kuipers were to get a long term injury or suffer a drop in form. It is also good to have competition in all positions.

I have always said on here that Sullivan is better than FDM in kicking, organising his defence and taking crosses but as to his shot stopping we shall have to wait and see as I think that FDM is better at one on ones etc. Sullivan is No 2 at the moment so hard as it may be FDM should come back when fit and then re-assess the situation.
