KKD open their first UK store this week.

On October 3rd at 9.00am we will be opening our first Krispy Kreme store in the UK in the Harrods Food Halls, Knightsbridge, London.

Like other Krispy Kreme stores, our Harrods location will offer our customers the unique "doughnut-making theatre" experience. Visitors will be able to watch their doughnuts being made right before their eyes behind a glass window. A glaze waterfall, which coats more than 40 doughnuts per minute, contributes to a store production of more than 200 dozen doughnuts per hour. The new store will also feature the signature Hot Doughnuts Now neon sign, which lights up to inform customers that Original Glazed doughnuts are ready to be eaten fresh off the line.

What do you reckon?

Krispie Kreme doughnuts are sooo overrated, as is most yank confectionery, as anyone who's ever eaten a Hershey Bar or an American Mars Bar or Milky Way will tell you. Stick to your supermarket doughnuts, much tastier (5 for 56p in Asda) and furred up arteries leading to high blood pressure and coronaries are guaranteed within the hour. :p

If we're talking Brighton doughnuts, nothing - but nothing - can beat the freshly fried real fruit doughnuts that used to be made at Vogel's bakery in St James's Street before it was demolished to make way for new housing in the early 1970s.

Mr Vogel's hot peach doughnut (cooked to order, with a real peach inside it and a choice of sugar coating, should you wish) was the food of the gods.

mmmmm....

Do you think Americans are impressed by all that bollocks?

Anyway, wait until they roll out the franchise nationwide and you've got some spotty Scoomber who couldn't give an arse whether it's donuts, burgers, fried chicken, coffee, paint or light bulbs that he's flogging you. Then ask yourself how your Krispy Kum experience feels.
