I thought all real Brightonians knew the merits of the Komedia. Been there a while hasn't it?

I hadn't been to the Saturday comedy night before. I have seen Bill Bailey and er....Paul Daniels there in recent years.

Loved it when Michael McKintyre did a semi-secret set there t'other year (tipped off by Comedy Steve on NSC) for about twelve quid or something. Despite doing a full hour, some girl in the crowd moaned loudly that she wanted her moneysworth. MM seemed genuinely gobsmacked - before sheepishly doing a longer set than he maybe had planned. Tho maybe moaner was just that planted Komedia employee from Bath

I went to see Frankie Boyle last night.

Very funny. But, in an attempt to keep up the horribly offensive gags, he did hark back to a few dating jokes about Jack Tweed etc.

Still a good evening and, unlike The Argus, I got free press tickets.

Comedy Steve is an ok compere
OK.
If it is all spontaneous wit then he is excellent
It's all spontaneous wit.
I hadn't been before but might go again.
Marvellous.

Yes, it's all off the top of my head the first time I say it, but as has been said elsewhere in this thread, the chances are it'll be similar to something I've had to think of before that has worked. The tricky bit is linking it all together, dealing with dickheads, and the rigorous recruitment process for the people we use as plants in the audience, ffs. :)

Yes we were asked on the way in if we wanted to say something funny and get picked on by the compere. Being a well known Brightonian I thought it would have been unfair of me to hog the limelight.
