I was never convinced Knocky could make it in the top league, he has struggled, yes some brilliance but mainly quite a struggle and he left Leicester once promoted.

He is only on form when playing a team on top of their game but not in the Premier League and also I think he looks at time petulant, probably disruptive and high maintenance.

However we did see him in his prime and it was was superb and a real treat but this is the Premier League that takes no prisoners.

I can see this, but still thought it would be worth a season with the new bloke and a thorough explanation of what was required before moving him on.

At least Fulham might return the favour next season and loan us Cairney for a promotion push. Option to buy for 5M at the end.

I'm sad to see him go as he was always a buzz to watch and didn't hide from having a go.

However, having watched him often moan and groan at his colleagues on the pitch, throw his arms up and bitch at them I'm not convinced his team mates will be sad to see him go.

Chalking this one up to moved on for reasons of team unity and #together (which totally fell apart at times last season).

Fully expect him to be a success at Fulham but maybe he is one of those players that needs to move on every 2-3 seasons.

Add to this, from what I’ve seen Potter like free flowing quick thinking football (if it works), and AK does hold onto it too long often. It suited CH. lots of assumptions I know.

If something emerges over the next few days which makes it clear the club had no real choice but to let him go, fair enough. But even then the deal itself is a terrible one. Possibly £10m next year when the squad needs strengthening now?

I didn't realise that we weren't allowed to spend unless we get the funds from selling AK. Let's hope there could be funds available from other sources such as a broadcaster or a wealthy chairman, or were screwed.

Potter saying it’s a good move for player and club as we are well covered in wide positions. I am genuinely staggered that we couldn’t/chose not to negotiate a hefty transfer fee. We seem to have just moved a player on to save wages. Maybe someone can explain the logic to me. It’s not like Fulham don’t have money. On the surface it looks like a truly dreadful bit of business.

He proved in the last two seasons that he was unable to adapt his style to the demands of the PL. He was given plenty of opportunity. He cannot cut basic and costly errors out of his game and at times, his temperament has cost us dear.
We all saw what he is capable of at Championship level. Some fans expected this to be replicated at the highest level, not fully understanding the different demands required. They have clung to occasional moments of brilliance and cited these as his potential but in truth, thats all they are, flashes, moments. He needed to show more consistency than this. His own frustration at not being able to reproduce his Championship flair has led to a lot of flouncing, hissy fitting, diving and blaming teammates to try and justify his place.
For him to produce his best, he needs to be comfortable and he will feel more on top of his game, at the lower level, with Fulham.
The signs are already there that we are trying to be more attacking with Potter. Playing further up the field, you cannot afford to give the ball away, under no pressure, when you are stretched.
Its an inevitable move, given his wages as well. I hope he does well and if we get relegated, he could come back and star again in the Championship. ( Or conversely, stay with Fulham in the PL and start the ..." is he/isn't he good enough "... argument all over again )

You seriously think that IF there was a problem with AK the club are going to tell everybody? There are almost THREE WEEKS left in this transfer window-what do you think happens at this time of year? The Albion wait until the last minute to start looking for suitable players? I'm pretty sure that work has been taking place to strengthen the team/squad and the new Albion don't let the world know until it is a done deal. Or close to a done deal.

Must be that Potter didn't want him and wasnt going to use him and I see that as very short sighted. January sale with things going ok then yes, not now.

You could level that criticism at ALL of our attacking players with the exception of Murray. AK played better than the rest, perhaps let's start over and get rid of them all.

Nope, you won't get a decent explanation from me as I'm baffled.

I keep hearing that we have moved CH on, and GP in because we are going to see more attacking, exciting football. And we've immediately moved on the most exciting Brighton player I've seen since those early, heady days of Lua Lua coming in on loan. Yes, he's not got the same influence in this division as he had in the Championship, but really not even worth a season with Potter to see what he can get from him? If he doesn't think he can get a tune out of Knocky, but feels we are "well covered"in that area, so leaves himself the task of getting a tune out of Ali J and Locadia, then, I'm really struggling with this one.

It's not even as if we've had an offer we can't refuse, or waved Knocky under their nose as part of a deal to get Cairney, Sessegnon, or even Mitrovic. We just seem to have off-loaded him in to the first team that has come asking. A new exciting, more attacking future, has got off to a very odd start for me.

But we seem to have off loaded him preferring to keep players who haven't even shown us the "occasional moments of brilliance" that we've had from Knocky.

If we are moving him on because of his "wages" then we really are not competing at all at this level in terms of wage structure.

Over the last 2 seasons 2 straight reds have seen him miss 10% of available matches through suspension. Had he been sent off against Palace, which he would had VAR been used, that would be 15%, plus we would have not seen that wonder goal, lost that match, been 3 points worse off and been relegated.

So his value is now nothing? From Championship player of the year whom Newcastle allegedly were willing to pay 18 million for three years ago, to a player that we have to send out on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Maybe the undisclosed fee is massive if Fulham get promoted
