Whatever anyone says, he WAS or COULD be good enough for us now, it’s opinion and we’ll never know. Different players in different teams and surroundings perform differently. I stand by I feel he’s a lot better than other players we have and so dangerous to have in our squad. And although he can be stroppy, all this temperament talk has escalated since he left - everyone loved him in our promotion season etc and at Chelsea this season that showed.
There were people critical of his temperament when he was here. He was rightly ripped apart for his reckless challenge against Bournemouth that saw him sent off and missing 3 crucial games in our relegation battle. He was very lucky that the ref didn't see his challenge in the opening seconds away to Palace as a red card too. He also got a very silly red card away to Everton in our first Premier League season. It was part of the player he was though, sometimes the red mist would descend, Maupay is similar however he seems to be able to keep himself just about in check at the moment. I love Knocky and that promotion season he was as good as any player I've seen in the stripes, it doesn't mean we can't acknowledge his flaws though.
