Would we be able to sign him on a free then?

Chelsea on-loan striker Leon Knight wants to pledge his future to Albion.
The 20-year-old striker signed on a two-month loan from the Premiership big spenders yesterday but is chasing a permanent switch from Stamford Bridge.
He said: "I'm looking forward to the challenge. If it pans out well, I have a good couple of months and it is right for me and Albion, then I would sign permanently.
"We've got a great chance of going back up and it would be nice to think I could get the goals that would help them get promotion at the first attempt.
"I always set a target for the season, which I usually keep to myself, but if I stay on at Brighton I expect to get more than 20 goals.
"I appreciate that Brighton have given me a chance and I'm ready to do my best to get them back up."
Knight has seen his chances of first team football at Chelsea dwindle in recent weeks since the takeover by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
The new owner has splashed the cash to bring in the likes of Damien Duff, Wayne Bridge and Glen Johnson and it has pushed Knight down the pecking order.
Knight said: "With the amount of superstars they've got there it doesn't happen for youngsters like me.
"Now you see the new owner coming in and there's no intention of playing the youngsters. We've got to do our own thing to further our careers.
"I'm the first to get out. I didn't want to join a club halfway through the season. I wanted to get out and start right away. Chelsea understand I've got to be in or around first team football."
Knight believes he would be able to emulate the scoring feats of Bobby Zamora, who left the Seagulls for Tottenham in a £1.5m move last week following 83 goals in 136 games.
Knight said: "I can do as well as Bobby if I can make a good enough impression on loan. Why not? I believe that every time I'm in front of goal I'm going to score.
"It is a mindset you're born with. If you go around confident you take that mentality into everything you do. Even if I am playing table tennis, snooker or pool, I feel I'm going to win. I'm a winner."
Knight hopes to make his Albion debut in the Barnet friendly tomorrow.
