Give the guy a fuckin break.

Great call GNF. Some of the fans on this board a f***ing disgrace. Ignoring FG as he always spouts drivel, the rest of you slagging DKnight BEFORE LKnight has gone are tossers. On SeagullsWorld, LKNight has already said he wants to play for us, and something is expected at the end of this week. DKnight saved this club, and all you can do is demand this that & everything. Spanners

Leon Knight has said that his agent is talking to the club this week. We are trying to sign him. If we don't manage it then it's because a bigger club comes in or his agent gets greedy. That's football. It's not fair but it's the way it is. Would you rather we did the same as Huddersfield who signed Andy Booth on a lucrative long term contract and nearly bankrupted themselves paying him. And they've got a nice new stadium.

A contract to the end of the season is what is needed. If we get back into the First Division then we would have to think about it again.

I'm not too sure that Leon would score as well in the First but until then let's make sure we keep him until May

I think we need to sort out a contract longer than a year. The guy looks absolute class and, with the right service, will score goals in Divs 2 and 1. If we get an extended loan, another Sidwell will happen - we need to do all we can to sign him up on a 2-3 year deal. If someone bigger comes in, that (unfortunately) is that but we have to act now and at least try to get him signed permanently.

I'd agree using if you take your quote literally. If he let's him go as in - goodbye Leon, we don't want to sign you and are happy for you to go to another team. But what if Reading were to come in and offer Chelsea £500000 and Leon £10000 a week? Would that be Dick's fault? Is he supposed to sell his house to pay for a player who could break his leg the next day? As long as we try our best to sign him without bankrupting the club then we should be happy.

In my opinion, there are too many Championship Manager wanabees around who will criticise managers and chairmen without knowing a tenth of what actually happened. We get muppets like FG who has the audacity to state that Roberts was out of position and at fault for the goal. Have you played in goal in the Premiership and in 2 cup finals FG? I seem to remember Seaman letting in an identical goal.

We get people criticising Knight for not spending money and then saying they can't go to games because they don't have enough money. And fail to see the irony. By their logic, you should get yourself in debt and sod the consequences. But don't do it themselves.

Football will always be an emotive issue and cause a wide and varied debate and different people will have different opinions. And that is the way it should be. But how many times to you see on here - In my opinion - or - I believe. Very rarely. It is always put as a matter of fact, normally from someone who has read the Argus or what someone's mate's brother's milkman has said, put 2 and 2 together, come up with -103.

If we get Knight - wonderful. If we don't, we may get someone else. We may not get someone else and Chris McPhee may prove to be a hero. Or not. Whatever happens, the club will survive. We have seen enough to realise that it is highly unlikely we will go down this year. Which means, at worst, Div 2 football next year. Which means Div 2 wages which are more approriate to playing at Withdean. Much as I would love to see us go up again, I still believe the best course for us would be to consolidate in Div 2, bring on players such as McPhee, Harding and Marney, get Falmer, steady the ship financially after that for a bit and then push on. Not a popular view, I'm sure, but probably the best course until we get a proper ground.

Players come and go - the club is forever (hopefully)

Leave the bloke alone. Bloody hell, we don't even know what's going to happen yet. No we don't want another Sidwell debacle but that was down to money we didn't have and a stadium we didn't have and the start of the season we didn't have. Yes I was pissed off but it wasn't Knights fault.

Same with Leon, if he signs brilliant, if he doesn't at least we know Dicks not offering silly money for players and putting the club in danger.
