I love having KLL in the side and of course I rate him very highly. But it strikes me that he does his best work in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Defenders are getting tired, mistakes happen and his raw speed therefore has more effect. I wonder if we ought to keep him on the bench until say 60 minutes but not start with him? The threat that the opposition know is coming is almost as effective as the threat itself for the first hour.

:thumbsup:Good point, maybe more so away from home where we need to keep things tight for the majority of the game. Then last 30, unleash Kaz

Is it me, or has Bennett's form dropped slightly since Kaz has been here? He seems to have handed the free-kick duties over to him? Just a thought?

Maybe, but more likely to be related to all the recent games IMHO. Bennett has seriosuly covered some ground (And does more to cover behind Calde when he is getting forwards than some people realise I suspect). I reckon he's just knackered. Up until the last few games I think he's been immense.

He took our last free kick last night and was the best one of the game.....he's not playing as an out an out winger at the moment like last year and playing more inside allowing Calderon to make more forward runs, the two are playing well together but do miss Bennetts runs down the right wing!!

Must be just me then as I think Bennett's been superb lately, pretty much all season in fact.

Bennett was in and out of the game last night and had a pretty poor first half. Aside from that he has been superb and the previous 2 games got assists.

How many shots does KLL have , at times he was quite frustating last night as seems quite narrow minded when he gets the ball. To be a better player he needs to know when to play the ball. Saying that he got his rewards with the goal so all good. Certainly a buzz when he does get the ball. Brentford obviously doubling up on him though.

I'd be tempted to rest him on saturday and start Baz. Like you say he can always come on if it is going tits up.

The opposition are f***ed after 75 minutes because they have had Kaz running at them all game.

I agree with ALL of that... and Gus kinda hinted that Baz deserves a chance in his post-match vid...

we were saying something similar things, sometimes he needs to look up and try to pick out a team mate with a killer pass, but then it is easy to say that from the stands i suppose

lua lua is always going to struggle if teams are doubling up on him - which, when they come to withdean they are almost certainly going to do now

the good news is that gives somebody else more space and time to exploit. it also means that, if we take the lead, they cant afford to have two men on one player as they need that extra body to get forward, which is when lua lua comes into his own when he is presented with a one-on-one chance

he is still doing a job for the team, even if he is not as explosive or effective throughout the entire game as he once was. that's what comes when teams become aware of how dangerous you are

Yeah - think you're right. I guess I was so used to seeing him on the free kicks that because he hasn't done so many recently I was thinking he'd slipped away a bit. But when I actually think about his general play he's still coming up trumps - even when opposing thugs are trying to knock him off the ball.

Can't wait to see another 'Bennett Screamer' though; much as I love Lua Lua, Bennett is certainly developing into a true Albion Ledge

they should vary the free kicks more than they did last night. I would like to see benno and Kll both lining up the same free kicks - that would give most keepers something to think about

Poyet was guiding things from the side lines. LuaLua didn't look interested in some but the big fella told him to get over there and take it.
On the LuaLua point it must be bloody frustrating being up front not knowing if the ball is coming in or what he is going to do. He can be quite selfish with the ball obviously but I'm sure a few more months of coaching under Poyet/Tarrico and he will improve his decision making.

I may be wrong but i think he is trying to impress everyone here at the club, he is always trying to score a screamer or take defenders on and score, i agree with everyone though sometimes he needs to look up and put the ball in for one of the strikers just like he did against MK for muzza, shot or not he still found murray's head

I actually thought particularly 1st half that KLL was fairly poor by his high standards. Didn't look up for it till the end and woeful shooting and a little too 'raw' even by his standards. Good last 15 though yes!

Which is exactly why he has to start. Even if he is not playing well the opposition are terrified of him. Saying that I think he might be on the bench on Saturday due to tiredness and his hamstrings.
