Klinsmann sacked by Bayern

I always, always said it was a mistake for him to go there: he's far too nice a guy for that job, which consists every bit as much of tolerating the gobby elder statesmen that hang around the club passing noisy comment to the press on how you're getting on (Beckenbauer, Rummenigge, Hoeness, Sepp Maier etc etc) as getting results on the pitch.

He'd have been better off going to a middling BL club, like Leverkusen or Schalke or someone, rather than straight into that nightmare.

I bet Lotthar Matteus had a hand in this somewhere along the line. Isn't he known as a gobby, grumpy TWAT in German soccerball circles, and a Bayern man?

He's certainly not backward in coming forward: in interviews he used to refer to himself in the third person, Alan Shearer-style, for example. But hopefully he'll have been concentrating on his own heady management career at, erm, Maccabi Netanya in Israel.

Matthäus has no chance - he is a bit like Brian Robson. Regarded as a great player but a completely hopeless manager.

Bayern will revert to type - poach the best players and manager that the other Bundesliga clubs have to offer.

MoH is completely right about the bitchiness from the elder statesmen, it keeps the media going here. Der Kaiser is the worst - polar opposites to Bobby Charlton at Man Utd

Oh well. He'll be back here in October to take over 19th placed Tottingham Hotsbridge after Harry "miracle worker" Redknapp has spunked £70m on 43 crap players this summer (and £9m on bungs) in their latest comedy effort to become half as big and successful as Londons biggest and best club, Arsenal.

That'll be 4th placed, no trophies in 4 years, Woolwich Arse for those without red and white tinted glasses.

As for the "Good German" - love to see him doing well at another German club.

Bloody Cheek! Best supported club in Germany by a mile! Sell outs every week. And can even beat Bayern! Shame about the rest of the season. Oh well always next year!

Schalke...Best supported club in Germany by a mile!
I think their nearby rivals at Dortmund might have something to say about that...

He's just not much of a manager though is he?

Maybe a bit harsh, I think he needs a good Peter Taylor figure alongside. I reckon that the experience with Germany shows that: he had Low to balance out his buddha-statues-at-the-training-ground new age crap. Germany without him have been stodgy and unspirited, Bayern with him have lacked shape despite a galactico squad.

Well, Bayern are a shocking THREE POINTS off the top of the league, after all.
Completely unacceptable.
