Just got back. Was a brilliant evening, really surreal walking into a room, recognizing so many people and then having to remind yourself that they have no clue who I am even if I do "know" them. Chris Wood and Liam Bridcutt were really nice, very down to earth and good to chat to. Think I said hello to most of the team and to Gus. Got quite frightened by Charlie Oatway, found out that Elliott Bennett gets the mickey taken out of him for the song, but he likes it and he started singing the opening of it!

Couple of photos:

(the red shirted guy near him is Adam El-Abd. there's the back of Charlie Oatway and Tanno's heads in the foreground, in the centre are Dick Knight and Gus. Nooney's on the left next to the guy in the red t-shirt - sorry most are back of heads!

Full size links to the photos are here Liam-n-Chris & Elliott

Video of Gus' speech is here:

Nice pics. How is Liam's injury?

Do you get the feeling the players notice when Withdean goes silent and do they care?

Calderon mentioned it, and thats why he looking forward to next season. He seemed really excited about it, and then got his phone out to show off photos of him in the West Stand Upper form a couple of days ago.

He said the hardest player he has played against is Adam Lallana. The best game he has played in for Brighton was the 4-0 at Charlton. He's Glad he didnt go to Southampton and wants us to win at Walsall so Southampton have to clap us on the pitch.

He predicted we would win it at Walsall and said it would mean loads to him, as that is where he made his debut for us

Liam said he's never had a dead leg like it and it was hurting him sitting there but he's training again from Weds and should be OK for Sat

Great to meet some NSCers on the table and thanks very much Bozza for letting me go! Big news of the night for me was when I went to take a pic of Benno and Mendoza and Mr Bennett said 'it's sky sports man!' - turns out Benno is a big fan of Brett's blog!

Wood and Bridcutt were really nice and down to earth and a good laugh - all the players were happy to have pics and seemed to enjoy the night.

Wood and Bridcutt both said our away support is the best they've seen and they can't wait for the new stadium.

It was a brilliant night. I sat between Greer and my boy Nooney. I have met a number of players over the years and Noone seems to be one of the nicest, and humblest, there is. He sincerely appreciates playing football for a living. Turns out he was born in the same hospital as my lovely wife. I got given his Daggers shirt as well. Greer has a very dry sense of humour and cracked a few amusing gags. Adam El Abd is a rock, he's the same height as me but about three times as solid...you could bounce 50 pence pieces off his torso.

I felt like a schoolboy walking around chatting to the players and collecting photos, and it took me ages to get to sleep as I was buzzing so much.

Good luck to Mr Blooby in the marathon and I now know who that Albion supporter in The Ganges is.

10) Is Tiger!

Fail. It's Eldrick.

We got 6 right on our table, turns out Ashley Barnes didn't know who JFK was, and asked who Jack Nicholson was. We answered 6 questions right, no thanks for Ash or Spazza. We got 3, 5, 7 amd 10 wrong (they are in the wrong order btw). We had to leave early, who won?

I was exactly the same, I got home just after 10, absolutelty shattered, then looked at my pictures, thinking what the hell just happened. I was buzzing, didnt sleep til after midnight.

It is weird seeing the players as actual people, who were clearly mates, not just people you scream at from the stands. All of the players seemed pretty open when talking, and Gary Dicker came across as the joker of the gang and a pretty central figure

Flipping heck Sheebo. Can you make those photos any bigger?

Glad to hear Bridcutt is going to be ok, hopefully, for Saturday.

Spazza took the piss out of Ashley Barnes for being married at the age of 21!
Saw Casper pick Brez up in his arms for a photo (Casper carrying Brez)
All the players seem to really click together, we asked Spazza for his nomination for player of the season, he reckons that within the team most would vote Adam El-Abd.
As has been well said before, he (Sparrow) thinks the away support is amazing, they all had their first trip to the Amex last week and loved it.
Interstingly though, Spazza, (and he reckons a number of other players too) had no idea who Peter Ward is, so he got a full explanation. Told him a bit about REMF, which again he had not heard of, and he suggested he might come to the REMF game, might even get a raffle prize from him.
All the players and other halves are off to London today for a show (Grease I think), just goes to show that they really are together as a unit, it's like going back to 01-02, but IMO I think the players are better this time round.

Generally it seems the players love it here, and they are astounded as to the level of support they get from fans, home, away, and even when it's not at a game, like last night, or when they're out in the supermarket.
