Pretty pointless Leicester getting promoted if they know they will have FPP issues and risk a points deduction

Makes far more sense to sell, if indeed they need to for FPP purposes

Just needs a competent finance person to have a good educated guess at their finances

Their problem is they finished fifth twice with Champions League level of wage bill

Everton were selling Richarlison for not a penny less than £80m - right up until when they sold him for £60m ( all driven by FPP )

They would still get a huge amount of money for getting promoted and if they did get relegated a huge amount of money in parachute payments too.

I don't think £50k or £100k is a huge amount of money for any major football team in England.

They will already be receiving parachute payments. If they get promoted, and go straight back down, they won’t get another one.

Leicester would get £250mil for getting promoted wouldn't they? And I think the parachute payments are nearly £100mil over 3 years for getting relegated?
No. Where did you get that figure from?

Teams get no prize money for getting promoted. What they get is TV money after they’ve spent a season in the PL, which is guaranteed to be around 90m for 20th (and about 2.5m for every place above), but usual costs of paying a PL squad will see to most of that.

Forbes Phillipson-Masters started of as a goalkeeper with Southampton but was not good enough. Was persuaded to convert to a center back by Saints staff and had a successful career after that along the south coast. All this assumes wikipedia is correct. Good effort by Forbes if it is.

I didn't say prize money, the cost of promotion earns a club £135mil - £265mil for a season. Hence why they call the playoff final the most expensive game in football.

Yes they get parachute payments for the time they spend in the EFL (up to 3 years), so probably a year......Then they'll receive the money from promotion (£135mil-£265mil) for that season........ If they get done for FFP and get a points deducted, then relegated they will receive parachute payments again.

He’s a championship player £30m max I would think.
Him being a regular top flight player last season changes that though.

Quite a few players from relegated sides have fetched large transfer fees.

That Pedro bloke from Watford went for £30m, not sure if he's worth that much - I'm still on the fence even after his hattrick today.

20M sounds cheap, 40M sounds crazy and 30M sounds about right. I'm sure there's plenty of time for everyone to meet in the middle (or they can just keep him and find some other players to sell).

It was reported he’s on £20k a week, making him an ideal Albion target considering how we do business.
Wants £60k though.

“ likes Stefano Sensi at Inter Milan and there are reports that deal is close. But without a player sale, it is one that would stretch the FFP limits — not so much the transfer fee itself, but the players’ wage demands, which would be Premier League level at around £60,000 per week.”

Doesn’t that sentence refer to Sensi’s likely wages?
