Through the same school as had mates there but for me down at Hove. Always good to still see him around and his daughters done well for herself with William Hill!

I played Rugby at school frequently, was fine. A bruise or pulled muscle here and there. No problem. The school I went to produced a few players that have played for England and it was compulsory. We may never have seen their likes if not.

The trouble is most people,apart from actual rugby players, don't really care about learning how to play (me included) and just see it as an opportunity to smash their mates, we've just finished playing it at school and hardly anyone can play it properly, plus most kids in my class played pretty rough and you could see a few were intimidated even though there's no real serious injuries

I encourage my sons to try every sport available to them. One plays football, one plays Rugby,one Box's, the other Karate. I love football, but I'd rather they both Boxed!

My rugby coach - Tony Miller of Corals Greyhound fame - informed us daily "The bigger they are, the harder they fall".
A lesson in life.

The lady in question clearly needs to be dump tackled to knock some sense in to her.

I played a bit of rugby at school and was good at it. I picked it up again in my early 20's. I've played Rugby for 6 seasons now, and am recovering from my first injury - 2 very seriously broken fingers. I would say it's a pretty safe sport.

I think it is great to encourage kids to play sport. It teaches discipline, teamwork and also it teaches kids that when you get knocked down, you get up and try again. All very transferable lessons to live life by.

I started playing as a ten year old in Rhodesia, then continued in South Africa.....and then played back here in the West Country retiring at the age of 48.....38 years of playing, one broken leg, several broken fingers, a broken nose and a few pulled muscles.......hardly any different to a footballer of the same duration.......myths and ignorance methinks.

I work in Paediatric Nursing and we are, believe me, breeding a nation of sickly kids who are becoming
ill at the drop of a hat.
Cant play in the mud, cant play Rugby, British Bulldog etc etc etc very namby pambied a lot of them not enough exercise either.
Can anyone in their 40s 50s remember anyone at your school with a nut allergy ? I cant !!!

If they can't except the real competitive physical world, they should be hung drawn and quartered and put out of their collective misery. That night teach them a lesson of life.
Time to round up all the hand wringesr in a confined area, spray them with tear gas, and then machine gun them all down to put them out of their ridiculous misery.
The Amex would be an excellent venue, given the corners have now been filled and there are no exits. Plus there should be a regular train service from Lewes/Brighton on a good day.
Also they can buy pies and pints before their demise which will contribute towards our FFP targets.
