Both my parents were Palace fans and my first professional game was Palace v Rotherham in 1965 (I think). So they obviously had a lot of influence on me! Much to their chagrin when I lived in the Croydon area I became a Chelsea fan, although I think had I stayed there I would have supported Palace when I got older.

Incidentally my Dad has only just discovered I support Sussex at cricket, he assumed I was a Surrey fan like him. Well I've kept very quiet about cricket over the last few years.

Having a 2 year old and another due very soon, the thought of watching them wear another kit is hard to take. I went to school in orpington and remember a few Palace fans although when you're 10, 10 miles away luckily didn't feel like 'local'. Supported Arsenal before moving down here and took a couple of years to realise that I had a great team to support on my doorstep!

Living in South Manchester was a big problem.

When my kids became seriously interested in football around 1996 they succumbed to peer pressure at school and announced they were Utd fans.

With the situation the Albion were in at the time I knew they were not going to support Brighton, but I was determined that they wouldn't support Utd.

Our local team is Stockport, and they have a good relationship with local Junior schools, running coaching sessions and providing free tickets. So we started going to Stockport occasionally, which co-incided with the most successful period in their history (and under Dave Jones they actually played some nice football).

So all my kids are now Stockport fans, and my boys also come to the occasional away game with me. At Macclesfield a couple of years ago one of them scored during the half-time shhot-out, but he did refuse to put my Brighton shirt on.

All in all, quite a good result I think, although quite a lot of their friends are Man U fans, I do manage to give them plenty of stick though.

Hart's Shirt you'd trust me with the champagne?

I married a Leeds supporter and went to live in West Yorks

I had a son and a daughter. I took my son to the Goldstone ground when down visiting my Dad.

As he went through school he started going to Valley Parade (the nearest ground to Cleckheaton) and so became a Bantam.

My daughter didn't make her mind up until she was in her teens and then chose Sheffield Wednesday (I think having a crush on Chris Waddle was a major factor)
She has been to many games all over the country and enjoys her football as much as her Mum.

The biggest success I had as you all know was my second marriage where I married an Owl and converted him to the Albion

Now I've got one of each! My son ws born in Barnsley & supports Barnsley, although he doesn't get to go to many games because his dad prefers to play golf. But I am proud of him for supporting his local team. Emily was born in Barnsley & is Albion through & through. At 6 years of age she may not undrstand peer pressure, but she is sticking to her guns. From her point of view she gets to go on lots of trains (and planes too soon!), goes to lots of pubs & goes to lots of different grounds, all to watch the Albion, which is a far moe interesting way to spend a Saturday than the things her friends do

i tried mot to support the albion. living in surrey and glos i went through aston villa, man u (!?), and later followed west brom, but i could never get out from under the shadow of dads love for the super stripes. when i was about 14 i suddenely realised i loved the albion, it was more than just following a team, it was a deep passion.

so i spose i kinda just found em!??!
