Some people here don't seem to know the difference between the word 'some' and 'all.'

She talks of some Johnny Come Backs being troublemakers, not many, most or even all.

THE real problem was the police under estimating the rivalries between us and palace, letting both set of fans out at the same time at the Amex was pure stupidly.

I think the atmosphere at train stations and in some parts of town has got mildly threatening on match days since The Amex opened for trade. And I agree that it has brought a slightly aggressive element with it. Sorry but it's true and I know a fair few football and non football fans who have noticed this just from living in Brighton & Hove.

what on earth was Liz Costa harping on about in the article "she feared that the clubs move to a new stadium had seen a return of some supporters who went to the Goldstone in the 1980`s and this had had a negative impact on the atmosphere at the ground".......really?........are you serious?

Possibly "negative impact on the atmosphere" was poorly-phrased (if that's exactly what she said) as I'm sure most people would agree that the atmosphere is superb and largely very family-friendly. However, in the same way that high profile away games have always attracted their fair share of Albion knuckleheads it stands to reason, that with bigger crowds and larger away contingents to abuse, there'll be more muppets than the very genteel Withdean experience. It's up to all of us to make sure they're not made welcome.

Laying into Liz Costa for pointing that out is unnecessary I'd say...

Some of the comments about Liz Costa on here are a disgrace and those who've slagged her off should be ashamed of themselves.
how do you work that one out ? had a discussion with someone on Saturday and allegedly she's not slow in complaining to stewards about people standing home and away and threatening to report the stewards too their respective clubs if they don't do anything ............... SHOCKING IF TRUE.seems to be a negative attitude towards her "style"of support?

Only to be expected though-not condoning violence, but 20,000 gates and 3 to 4 times the number of away fans that have been coming to Brighton for the past 14 years....will see a rise in rude, obnoxious and aggressive behaviour....

This is football we are talking about after all and we all best get used to it....

so you're not denying it ? are you one of the lot that goes on the love bus ?

reich i'm agreeing with you, I hate how people don't go by the phrase 'if you don't like it, lump it'

it sems to be the norm now people turn up to something and go woah hang on a minute. I'm not going, you are. It's so bloody annoying.

bet she'd just like to sit there with a blanket and a thermos of tea.

Every club has its fair share of morons but let's not turn our beautiful game into a genteel vicar's tea party, for heaven's sake.

No to racism, no to full-on abuse but let's not kid ourselves; the reason we line up under our respective colours once a week is to fulfill a deep human need to group together, drink beer and let off a bit of steam.

Do we ??? what about those that drive there or are non drinkers ???.
I go to watch a game of football not let off steam.

One of the few things I dislike about following the Albion is how a few fans insist that their way of supporting the club is the only way. NSC is full of em unfortunately...

Liz Costa is the most extreme example of that IMO..

If someone's behaviour is inappropriate for the section they're in, that's what police and stewards are for. And when there are meatheads about, there are always fans that join in who aren't exactly hardcore - just sheep. They're the ones that other fans can make realise they're acting like dickheads. Isolate the real problem fans.
