Putting iit n Qatar is such a stupid decision, except for the Qatari rulers who will gain greatly out of it, that it just has to have been a fix . Money talks !
It was bound to result in silly kick off times either for the players and locals or for the watching world . If they are late here then they are early in the East and vice versa.
Since Albion now competes with these players on a weekly basis I don’t see them as heroes but foes .. Coupled with the humanitarian issues, I will give it a miss.

Knockout games at 3pm doesn’t sound ideal if we are talking weekdays, fine for weekends.

I appreciate this is probably lower down the list of worries about this particular tournament, which probably go something like-

1. Human rights issues / FIFA corruption
2. Why the heck are we having a WC in Qatar / FIFA corruption
3. Why did they ever agree to a WC in winter / FIFA corruption
4. Fear of getting tricked into getting behind England only to see them exposed as absolute pony at some point in the tournament
5. 3pm kick-offs Mon-Fri when I’m at work

Will those refusing to watch the World Cup because it's in Qatar also not watch the Winter Olympics next year in Beijing? I assume these same people don't have any electronic gadgets made in China?

I have already made the decision not to watch this tournament. I hope I live up to that promise.

Just did a little bit of researching to see if FIFA have announced the kick off times for the World Cup this time next year, and see that the following has been proposed:

Group matches: 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm.
Knockout matches: 3pm and 7pm.

This means the 7pm (local time) games will kick off at 10pm here. Potential to get very messy if England have any of the late group slots or progress through the knock out phase...

I would expect the kick off times will be manipulated to suit teams' domestic audience. The 7pm slot will likely be mostly South American teams as it works better for that time frame, whereas the Asian teams could well be 10am. European teams would therefore likely for the most part form the 1pm and 4pm slots. Obviously some teams will fall foul depending on the groups but there's no way FIFA would prioritise the needs of (e.g.) Australia over Brazil.

My liver takes an absolute battering in a normal December. I dread to think what is going to happen in a December with a World Cup thrown in. Also, apparently the final is at 5pm UK time on Sunday 18th December. Already finished work for the year, kids have broken up from school, Christmas in a few days. If England were to get there, and win it, I'm not sure I'd ever recover. The thought of it actually frightens me a bit.
