Given up getting excited about foreign players joining U23s. There must have been dozens over last few years . I know one went to Russia and is now in Norway squad but maybe somebody can tell us where these wonderkids are now.

Eh? That’s how it works.

You sign a lot of potential, develop and nurture their talent.. hope to get some good enough to sell on, and hope to get a few good enough for the team.

Hence “development squad”

Because if they were good enough for Man Utd they'd probably have singed for Man Utd.

Sorry it was a poor attempt at humor. I am a big fan of the German model of buying young stars whose paths to the first team is blocked a stream of ready made stars being bought in every season. I hope we can emulate them, Lamptey is the perfect example and hopefully Reda will follow his path as well as a Zeqiri if he signs.

Yes, many don't understand the Academy has a secondary function. There are plenty who we'll pick up for £1m and sell on a couple of years later for £4m after a successful loan spell. This in time will probably prove more common than developing first team players

Looks it bit like Stephanne Chapusiat who played for Dortmund. If he's anywhere near that good would be a decnt signing. Good luck and welcome.

Aarrgh. Undisclosed fee.

Makes it difficult to know what to subtract from the current £15.4 million estimate of transfer window profit.

Isn't he on a free after being released from his German club?

I imagine most, if not all, of that has been "spent". You know due to there being no fans. Or had you forgotten that?
No. I most certainly haven't 'forgotten that'.

I'll give you the breakdown I did recently highlighting the Sars-Cov-2 losses :

TV income : + £140 million
Other income : low
Wage bill : - £100 million
Covid19 Losses : - £20 million ( £1 million per match )
Other fixed running costs : - £20 million

‐‐-------
£ 0
---------

Sales / loan fees for Knockaert, Duffy, Montoya, Stephens, Murray, Button

-

Purchase fees for Veltman, Lallana, Van Hecke, Dendoncker, Weir

= + £14.4 million.

Football is going madder then I thought if most of that is accurate
