And you’ve explained the nickname was because she likes carrots so it is not one bit racist - here is where a big part of the problem lies for me - everyone’s looking for racism that ISNT THERE! She obviously wants it so no drama to see here.

Exactly - and besides, 'Bunny' was a common nick-name long before various words for people of colour were (quite rightly) outlawed. Back in the day (and especially in the forces) people named Smith were 'Smudger' (never quite worked out the derivation of that one), people called Miller were 'Dusty', people named White were nicknamed 'Chalky' and Underwoods (including my late Godfather) were always 'Bunny' (bunnies - live under the wood, geddit?)

I think someone has mistakenly thought they were making a cutting remark about the state of the modern world. However it has turned out that not even other gammons can understand what the hell it is this is suppossed to prove.

I think you'll find that that's you.

Ask your friendly local woke snowflake?

And before somebody asks how you find your local woke snowflake, I have just found out from that apparently your local Chubby Brown gig will be full of them or they will be getting upset about the fact that he isn't performing locally. Who knew

ban carrots , have a march campaigning against carrots , media need to go on and on about carrots , everyone needs pretend to be outraged about carrots.

Then we can all move on to the next thing

That’s orangeist!

I suspect this thread is just a wind up. Hoping perhaps to sit back and watch some claim that the term is just bantz, while others suggest it is an outrage. No takers. Fancy that :lolol:

Must try harder next time.

Or maybe a few people are trying to create mischief and very few folk genuinely have issues with it.

The Daily Mail is good at that. One person says something silly and apparently there is a whole woke brigade getting upset.

Sometimes it's like PPF turning up for some tasty stuff to run away from and finding just one beer bellied 80s sentimental with his arms spread asking where everyone is- then coming on NSC telling everyone how it all kicked off.

Lol.

I can no longer keep up with what is offensive.

Is there a central checklist I can refer to in future ? ???

You asking for a central checklist offends me! :)

The old schrodingers a**ehole remark. It's simultaneously meant as serious and just a joke until the the reaction to it can be gauged by the op.

What a lame retort. Can you seriously not come up with anything better? Go on, give it a go. You've had a few hours to gently steam in self righteous indignation. You must have somthing better than " I know what you are but what am I" by now.

One of my Dad's really good mates, growing up in Storrington / Pulborough was called 'Bunny' Carroll, on account of his rather prominent front teeth. I've known the chap for 5 decades, and have literally never once heard him referred to by any other name. No offence seemingly taken, although I think such nicknames would probably be discouraged in today's school playground...

(And why did the word 'Boris' pop into my head when I thought about your observation? ???)
