I've been to Scotland countless times and never had anything like that. Maybe they were generalizing from you?

I have to admit that I haven't read the book, but I feel.we have had a clique for too long.
I'd rather have a reformed (?) character desperate to play for England than a player charmed.by the trappings of the captaincy when he should have fallen on his sword a long time ago.

Do you think the ECB can be trusted? This is the organisation who claimed to have a dossier on his wrongdoings, yet it has never come to light, even though the non-disclosure period has ended.
Do you think that Andrew Strauss, the man who called KP a **** live on television, can be trusted?

As a nation we are sadly somewhat of a laughing stock when it comes to sport. I genuinely don't like KP, but for Chrissake have we got to put up with another humiliating mauling by the Aussies just because he's a naughty boy? When, as seems likely, our 'nice polite lads' are whitewashed in the Ashes this summer by the not so nice Warner, Johnson and Co I for one am going to be pizzed orf....again. I'm not interested in any of our batsmen asking me for my daughters hand in marriage, I'd just like them to face up to short pitched balls, sledging and score some feckin runs!

Disgrace, best batsman we've got, poor tour of a dire Windies and we think we can just do without, rather than try and manage a bit of a maverick. God help us if this is the way forward, toe the line or you're out, Aussies and Kiwis must be pissing themselves laughing, well done Strauss

Rather short sighted, I think.
We have got to build for the future and KP is not the future.
I am glad that the ECB can see right through him, even though, it would seem, that a lot of people on here don't seem to be able to.
KP is all about KP and that is that.
I also think that you maybe surprised when the Ashes series starts, as the Aussies do tend to struggle under the northern hemisphere conditions.

My take on this is that Graves - when he made the offer to KP of the open door back into the England team - was playing the 'I'm the new boss' card. Prat. Then when it came to negotiating Strauss's role, Strauss said 'over my dead body' and effectively had a veto. The ECB had to choose between Strauss and KP. So the door was slammed shut by Strauss and Graves was party to this. KP has been stitched up like a kipper and even arguably has a (moral if not legal) case for damages against the ECB - after all, he turned down a lucrative IPL contract to follow Graves' advice.
This makes English cricket a total laughing stock as - amongst many other things - this has been made into an issue of 'trust' by Strauss. KP obviously trusted Graves and ended up hung out to dry.
By the way I'm not an apologist for KP. But goodness me - what a shower!

So have I. It was a posh part of Edinburgh too. We had been doing the Caledonian Bike Etape. Like most on here his issue was probably cyclists. A farmer had already sprinkled thousands of tacks on the course puncturing thousands of tyres and stopping the race for an hour or so.
Re Prior - I call it acting like a grown up - though as you know his true feelings came out at the dinner! Remember although both highlighted his batting class on the pitch both mentioned his shortcomings off it.
Desperate but for what reason, Pieterson has shown he doesn't given a toss about the country by sending texts to an opposing team, if it had been my decision he wouldn't have come back after that - remembering that was already his 'second chance', post the original Moores sacking.
Even in the last Ashes, whilst the entire performance was poor, when he was required to stand up and perform, too often he started playing for himself, and Vaughan who was hammering him on TMS has done a complete U-turn.
Of course this morning, once again he has 'milked' the publicity and had yet another pop at the ECB in his newspaper column.
To be fair El Pres, ask yourself why Strauss called him that, this was after Pieterson had sent the texts etc...., and I think Strauss probably stated what a number of England teammates actually felt. The only thing Strauss has got wrong is this one-day selector job offer.
In terms of the dossier, sometimes organisations do stupid things and the ECB by even responding and indicating the existence of a dossier is a prime example, when they should have just kept quiet, Pieterson was on enough TV shows and spouting off in enough newspapers to dig himself a hole. Rather inevitably Pieterson has been on Twitter this morning.
The person I would like to hear from is Graves, who sounds like a prize pillock, promising things he can't possibly deliver.

So, once again, it's all about KP and, once again, after initially feeling sorry for him he's managed to make me glad he's gone.
I can completely get why he'd be confused/hurt but he's once again gone off the deep end and made it abundantly clear (to me anyway) why you wouldn't want him anywhere near a team.
