Indeed, but you would hope that any manager worth his salt would at least check in on the injured players? Let them know thoughts for the tactics etc. so that they know what to expect when they regain fitness?

Not sure why it's assumed he'll be a failure. He's played for some pretty effective managers, so there's a chance that'll rub off on him. He's just as likely to be decent than anyone else - say what you like about him, but he was a leader. In the lower leagues that counts for something.
