Swindon have money and a good, thoughtful manager who knows the division inside out. Their ground is perfectly fine for League 1 and they will no doubt be paying decent wages. Douglas was a great signing for them and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they sign Lisbie or another recognised striker. They are my dark horses for the play offs.

Jonathon Douglas is a good player, and Gordon Greer looks pretty solid, David Lucas has always been a solid goalkeeper aswell, so their spine is looking ok. Plus they have a brilliant kid called Macklin who is pretty special, mr Moonraker will agree I'm sure.

Relying on Billy Panyter to score the goals though. :lolol:

Macklin is still very very young and raw, i think he is just 17, he is quick as f***, saw the game at luton tuesday and he got knocked off the ball a lot but set up a goal for douglas with a deft back heel. To be perfectly honest we are f***ed unless we get another striker, i have a feeling lisbie is going to colchester, the reason i asked originally is if a player is being touted for our division the names, huddersfield brighton leeds charlton norwich swindon and southampton always crop up.

Macklin looked CLASS at the Withdean, that was his debut wasn't it? Considering the stage of the game he'd come on at, he was given alot of time and space on the ball and he used it really well, he was actually unlucky not to score when played through. I think he looks real class, he was banging them in for the reserves wasn't he last season? My friend went and saw a reserve game at the CG and he scored twice I think.

Lisbie looked pretty damn good at the Withdean last season in the preseason game for Ipswich (or was it Charlton? I forget), he would be a good signing at this level for anyone. Especially for Swindon though, with all due respect.

What do you base that on? He is a bloody good manager IMHO

It is all about opinions and I think that he is a good 'nearly' manager who will get a club to within smelling distance of winning the league but the fall away and just miss out.

Had he come to us when MA left (2nd time) instead of RS he would have pulled us clear of relegation but had he arrived when MA left (1st time) he wouldnt have gone the one step further and taken us up again. A very good manager to consolidate in a division IMHO.
