I still think (this is a bit like Perseus with his bloody Pende arguments) that Mayo's best position is not left-back. He should be in midfield where he can get stuck in.

you do not remember him playing in midfield at Gillingham then, looked OK in a bad bunch, but was still shite. LB / left side of a 3 man defence are his best positions.
