Just been reading the news piece on he official site on the first event in Kerry's testimonial calendar. I really hope he makes a packet out of his testimonial year.

Whatever your opinion's on the guy's ability, he has been an absolute legend for the Albion. He has shown utmost loyalty to the club, played for us since the darkest days, he has fought back time and again from being dropped, injured or loss of form and he obviously loves B&HA.

I personally rank him alongside names like Steve Foster, Kit Napier, Peter Ward and Norman Gall as players who will always be remembered as long as there is an Albion.

When you read his testimonial programme it makes you remember exactly what he has been through and how many managers he has played for.

A local lad made good. He's one of our own.

He is a club stalwart, and as the sole survivor of the dark days of Gillingham, he has really experienced everything with the club.

I don't thnik he is good enough to start for the club now, but he has my utmost respect and deserves to make a lot of money out of this.

Kerry Mayo- I salute you.

Kerry is a club stalwart, no doubt - and also to be admired is the fact that he has got the absolute best out of his ability by working very hard to improve. Which he has, no question, since those early days.

He must occasionally shuddder wondering what might have happened to both him and the club but for Robbie Reinelt's goal.

And how he took advantage of that escape is an example to all players, not just at the Albion - who he clearly loves.

My definition of true loyalty maybe differs a bit from OTLW. I don't think you are loyal JUST because you stay in one place for a long time, although that is obviously one significant factor.

Another big factor is whether you had offers, maybe better paid, to go elsewhere, as did someone like Matthew Le Tissier. To my knowledge, Kerry hasn't.

Page 20 of his programme says he has had a couple of chances to go elsewhere..

Btw he has scored 3 own goals in his 10 years with the club but whenever he has, we haven't lost the match. (Maybe he ought to do it more often ;) )

Deserves everything he can earn from his testimonial.

Not many last 10years with a club these days.

Well done Kerry:clap2:
