Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure you all will) but trial players can't play in competitive matches so unless we offer Currie and Niclas short term deals then they won't be playing on Saturday.

Easily got over with a week to week contract in order to see what they can do under match conditions.

Currie on the right, Jarrett on the left, with Niclas and Reid in the middle.

Hmmm. The Stevenage midfield reunited - the formation that played arguably our worst 90 mins of football in the pre-seasons.

I've watched Nicolas in two games now and have yet to see him win a tackle. He is NOT a replacement for Oatway.

Currie is too slow for Division One football, probably even too slow to convert him into a central midfielder.

There are reasons why McGhee has not already signed these two up and, that is, their performances haven't been good enough, that's why they stand out starkly from Molango and Jarrett.

I will trust McGhee's judgment if he decides to sign either but he must be wondering whether there are better players out there for us. Molango and Jarrett were waiting to be discovered, are there others that McGhee's scouting network could discover?

Agree. We are going into this division with a poor midfield that we've had all summer to strengthen. Jarrett looks promising, but we may need to do better than the others.

Does not the phrase peanuts and monkeys come to mind. Not our fault I know before everybody starts on me just a pure fact.

That's just a cop out. We've signed two fine young players who will do well for us this season. The question is, can we get some more. Wages are a constraint, but good management contacts and nous can overcome this handicap.

The fact that Currie can actually pass the ball is a distinct advantage over most of our other midfielders... sign him...

He was Wycombes most consistent player last year and was released purely to cut the wage bill.

No doubting his skill, just his fitness.

I think McGhee is well known as a coach who gets his players fit. Just look at how Butters improved last season after losing a few pounds. Butters said it was all down to McGhee sorting out his diet and training. Maybe he sees Currie as this years health and fitness project!

does anyone actually think we will sign this Niclas, as MM thinks he is very similar to Charlie, any thoughts on this?

looked ok on sat, but nothing spectacular. That said, he may well have been influential in the turn around in performance for the second half and contained the Cambridge midfield more so wouldn't have been noticed so much for on the ball work. Think he would be a good signing personally.
