mcghee has said that he has been impressed with currie and nicolas but has to decide whether we need players of that type.

jones is rubbish - why do people think he is any good?

He runs around like a headless chicken most of the time paying absolutely no attention to his team mates position.

he very rarely delivers a decent cross, and isnt particularly good at covering the defence.

i am bored of arguing about jones, it is all i ever seem to do on here.

i think he is good, everyone else (bar a handfull of people) thinks he is shit. end of.

i will leave the jones argument with this though'

If Paul Brooker looked to get in possession of the ball as much as Nathan Jones does, the people who think Jones is shit would hold exactly the same opinion of Brooker.

Jones makes cock ups but every time he does, he IMMEDIATELY wants the ball back, Brooker and many others would go and hide for 15 minutes.

McGhee says on the official site that Currie is a terrific passer, keeps possesion and picks people out. We have to decide if that's a strength we need. Alexis - like Charlie gets around midfield winning the ball back and playing it simple. He gets up and down and has loads of energy. Again, is that a type of player we need?

(McGhee's words not mine btw)

I like Jones and Oatway and feel the fans are very very harsh on them.

Not necessarily "is he the type of player we need?" more "is he a player we can waste scarce money on?"

At work - probably
If Nicholls is similar to Oatway but is obviously able to pass as well - then yes we should sign him up, particularly is he was good enough to be pushing to be in the first team squad for Chelski. As for Currie - we have needed a proper right sided player for ages - Micky Adams seemed to prefer to convert centre forwards to right wingers (Freeman & Harty), whilst Taylor tried with David Lee and Phil hadland and Hinsh tried with the youngsters Marney & Wilkinson - none of whom have been that successfull (although Harty has done well - but mainly for his effort as he cannot cross for Toffee) so I say again - sign him up!

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure you all will) but trial players can't play in competitive matches so unless we offer Currie and Niclas short term deals then they won't be playing on Saturday.

If that's all true then it sounds like our midfield is sorted.

Currie on the right, Jarrett on the left, with Niclas and Reid in the middle.

I'd be happy with that.

Oh yeah, and I'm a fan of Nathan Jones as well. Better than Brooker.
