Mushy is sharing the love
There is still work to do but in the space of an hour and 20 minutes at Canterbury yesterday Sussex took a huge step towards claiming their second Championship in four years.
That is how long it took their bowlers - and in particular the irrepressible Mushtaq Ahmed - to transform the first day of their penultimate game against Kent at Canterbury.
At 2.29pm the home side, who had won the toss, were in control on 176-2, Martin van Jaarsveld and Matt Walker having put on 149 for the third wicket.

By 3.50pm Kent were all out for 241 - their last seven wickets falling for 26 runs in 11 overs.
At the heart of the transformation was Mushtaq. Frustrated either side of lunch when he bowled 12 wicketless overs, he finally broke through when Walker missed an attempted sweep from well outside his off stump and Matt Prior pulled off an outstanding stumping.
The door was open and Sussex piled through in the style of title-chasers with Mushtaq showing the way.
When Simon Cook was caught at slip off a sliced drive he had taken 6-16 in 8.5 overs and, with Yasir Arafat reverse-swinging the old ball at the other end to claim two wickets, Kent were dismissed for 241.
Sussex could not get through the new ball unscathed when they began their reply after tea.
Robbie Joseph got a couple of deliveries to straighten to account for openers Richard Montgomerie and Carl Hopkinson although there was some doubt about both dismissals. Montgomerie appeared to be outside the line and Hopkinson would have thought a ball which struck him above the knee roll may have passed over the stumps.
But Murray Goodwin and Chris Nash put on 97 for the third wicket without too much trouble and Sussex will resume today on 102-2.
By then Mushtaq had his feet up on the Sussex balcony, enjoying a cigarette and reflecting on the 91st five-wicket haul of his remarkable career.
In six-and-a-half games against Kent since joining the county in 2003 he has taken 46 wickets. The only excuse Kent could offer for the way they played him yesterday was that he had been absent when the sides drew at Hove in July.
Turning point Getting Walker, a player who always seems to do well against Sussex, was the turning point. The diminutive left-hander picked Mushtaq's googly - his stock ball these days - as well as anyone has this season.
He certainly looked more comfortable than van Jaarsveld, who had his fair share of luck in compiling a nonetheless attractive third hundred of the season.
The South African, who passed 1,000 runs when he reached his 50, struck 18 fours and a six in his 116 although he might have been out three times before he reached 30.
An inside edge off Jason Lewry flew just out of the diving Prior's left hand when he had made four. On 29 Robin Martin-Jenkins was celebrating a leg before appeal when umpire Mike Harris changed his decision after raising his finger, correctly as it turned out because van Jaarsveld had got an inside edge.
Then, having added just a single, van Jaarsveld padded up to a googly and the only doubt must have been whether the ball had not spun enough to hit off stump.
Van Jaarsveld must have felt it was his day because he started to flourish either side of lunch, using his feet to drive Mushtaq down the pitch and treating Arafat in particular with scant respect.
It took a great catch above his head by Murray Goodwin at wide mid-on to get rid of him but from there Kent went into terminal decline.
Geraint Jones padded up, Darren Stevens was caught at slip off a top-edged sweep and Claude Henderson and Cook both succumbed to the googly.
Kent are one of three counties interested in signing Arafat next season and perhaps he was guilty of trying too hard to impress potential employers, particularly before lunch when van Jaarsveld attacked him and hit three boundaries off one over which cost 16 runs.
But when the ball started to reverse - and Mushtaq started getting in his ear from his station at mid on - he proved almost as effective as his compatriot at the other end.
Neil Dexter's off stump was flattened by one which nipped back and Joseph could have few complaints about the lbw decision which ended the innings.
Sussex's other seamers stuck to their task well and Lewry's productive season continued with the wicket of Kent's openers in his first five overs, both leg before to balls which held their line.
