On the Border
11pm announcement by wolves that Kenny Jacket has left the club with immediate effect.

Madness you used to be able to get to October before a sacking and now a week before the season starts.

What always amused me about Kenny Jackett is that he DOES actually look like a potato.

The Championship really is starting to become a bit of a Prem 2 and attracting some well known management faces. Perhaps the trickle down effect of the money bringing more players to the Prem from overseas has upped the quality of the Championship to the point where it is now considered a serious league.

Prepare to be shocked. The new Chinese owner is bringing in a foreign manager.

I think Wolves fans might be having mixed opinions over this - I would certainly if it were the Albion. Doubtless the thought that they might have millions to spend and thus reach the promised land will be appealing, but what might come with it? A change of colours, the stadium named the "Chop Suey Outlet". matches played in China, kick-off times to suit a chinese audience, the club renamed (wolves tigers?) and perhaps even a chinese team? Yes, this may sound fanciful, but a few years down the line -would you bet against it? Long live -and chair -TB!

Looks like they're bringing in Walter Zenga. He's had 15 managerial spells in 17 years, a few in Serie A but mainly in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

I give him 3 months.

No secret he was going. Jacketts known for weeks. Their original number one target was Julen Lopetegui and they offered him the job earlier this season and an agreement was in place for him to take the reigns when they took over, but he was subsequently offered the Spain job which he then accepted.
