This is ridiculous, perhaps if the English FA ban Swansea from European competition......

Seriously, if the Welsh clubs are playing in the English league, surely the clubs and their players should be managed administratively by one FA. It does feel like the Welsh FA just like flex their muscles at every opportunity..... probably justifying their existence.

Playing tonight according to the Argus. Swansea had to give permission as all the paperwork is not complete although Welsh FA clearance has come through.

Welsh FA clearance has been recieved but apparently the paperwork our end hasn't been cmpleted yet- all very strange. Maybe they need extra insurance on him due to injuries...

with you on this, is all very odd. Clearance is through but still paperwork not complete although we were lead to believe this was the reason for hold up in announcement.

Ridiculous! Welsh FA have 'form' with our previous 'Welsh' acquisitions, but why the hold-up our end!? And why do the Welsh FA have to give clearance anyway; utter nonsense!

That is simple because he was registered with a club affiliated to Wales FA. Some clubs like original Wimbledon dual affiliated and did so with Surrey FA and London FA as opposed to Palace who only affiliated to Surrey FA. The same can happen with clubs like Cardiff Swansea Newport as they play in a League affiliated to England FA. They could affiliate to their countries FA and England FA if they wished because of the fact that the league they play in is affiliated to English FA. The same could be said of Brechin and the Scottish FA.

Noone would have required English FA clearance to sign and play for Cardiff.

Every player and every club from Sunday Pub teams to Man Utd have to affiliate to an FA, usually in the case of non contract players their county FA. In fact regulations do not permit affiliated players, clubs or officials taking part in non affiliated competitions and leagues. If a pub team in Brighton want to go and play a team in France they have to have permission of Sussex FA, England FA and France FA technically.
