Everyone is banging on about starts, how many games has he come on as a substitute for?

(Still expensive though)

Also, it's not his fault that West Ham paid him that much and not his fault he broke his leg.

I get full wages when I'm off sick. Why shouldn't he?

If you had his injury (sickness) record at previous companies, you may well have been offered a day rate, just as he should have been on a pay-per-play.

Are football clubs not insured against player injury?

I think that is for payments to pay up their contract once they have to retire. If they were to take a policy to recover money while a player is merely out with an injury, then the premiums would probably be prohibitive, especially for a player with the injury-record of Dyer.

So, you are injury prone and a company comes up and offers to pay you sick leave whereas another only agrees to pay you for the days you work. Which one are you going to work for?

Seems Dyer is being blamed for the stupidity of the WHU management.

Expect him to move to Portsmouth soon - just after the St John's ambulance have been forced to accept 3p in the pound for their debts.
