Agreed - absolutely astonishing.

He's hardly covered himself in glory since his return to Tyneside but I'd be surprised if the geordie faithful lie down and let this happen.

Well he seems to have serious financial backing and will no doubt use BHA as his first port of call to recruit players.

So that aint a bad start.

He has played at County Level and Coached at BHA Centre of Excellence so although inexperienced, unlikely to be clueless.

I would expect Steve King wasnt a coaching genius but had good backing financially from the club and attracted players as a low level agent and achieved an unlikely success.

So who knows, but he has a chance of doing ok.

I guess the difficulty is going in straight in at Conference Level with a likely set of players that may compete without initially achieving at that level.

I am not sure the fans will be too forgiving at first, so they will have to be patient.

Just cannot see anymore than 500 supporters showing up regularly, even if Lewes are mid-table.

They will start to haemorrage money, so their plans for redevelopment better start soon for Keehan.

Hart and Mayo at Lewes next season, absolute certainty. Good chance if Butters isn't offered a contract that he will be there too.

Probably a bit too high a level for Mayo. I've got him down for next season as a taxi driver in the Peacehaven area.

Maybe Steve King could do a job for the Albion as one of Barry Lloyd's scouts? He has picked out a few decent players to turn Lewes into a half decent side.

they wont be able to survive in the conference without a substantial injection of money, which is really an indication of how far they have come and well they have done to get there

if the blokes who are prepared to put money in want there own man as manager, and it is the only way the club can get that money and as such have a chance of surviving in that league, then it could be there only option

Well he can't be any worse as a football manager than he was as a Commercial manager ...
