No, it won't. Smith is hard-working but ultimately talentless, Ameobi is mediocre, Owen is crocked, Viduka usually can't be arsed, and Martins isn't what he was last season. Their front players would only win games if they were very tight at the back. With Keegan in charge, they will need to score 3 goals to win a game, and that lot just won't manage it.

you forget that this man constucted the flairest team ever to grace the premiership.

this is the only man to come close to winning the premiership without possessing ANY form of defence

many happy years await tyneside

BRING BACK GINOLA:bounce:

hmmm, to be honest you can't come 2nd in the league without having a half decent defence, but keegan definitely installed a attacked minded APPROACH

i mean, the man could actually choose between hislop and srnicek

not many managers have been blessed with that kind of luxury

warren barton and john beresford, rampaging up the wings to give keith gillespie and david ginola support

my mouth is literally watering

out of interest, isn't keegan the closest an english manager has come to winning the premiership? or has another come 2nd?

he has to be the most recent?

so in terms of english managers of the premiership era, the best thus far have been ron atkinson, kevin keegan and roy evans

joking aside that is very, VERY depressing

blackburn rovers?- kenny dalglish(guess)
arsenal- george graham
leeds utd- howard wilkinson

after utd. and villa they were 100% guesses

we've neglected another successful manager in the form of nottingham forests FRANK CLARK who matched mike walkers and roy evans' record of finishing 3rd in 94-95
