Wonder if QPR will come back in for Lua Lua, IMHO both could do a good turn at Portsmouth or at the worst Crawley but both above Crawley I would think as they looked poor against us sadly lacking organisation or method.

I'm surprised that QPR haven't already been in touch re LuaLua, as allegedly Holloway is a great fan of his. I would baulk at the idea of sending either player to Crawley though. They are both much better than League Two standard.

QPR have made it clear they can't afford anybody this season.

He was a revelation under Oscar. Played that holding midfielder role really well and, had we persisted with playing in that style, it's possible he would have continued to be a mainstay in the team. Unfortunately for him Chris doesn't play with a single holding midfielder sitting in front of the back four and, for whatever reason, Ince hasn't been able to adapt. Shame because at one point I thought he was the bees knees.

No, he wasn't. People hilariously overrated Ince and incredibly underrated Keith Andrews who was crucial to that team. I know the usual people will say the usual things about Andrews but the reality is that he played a very important part in why we fluked 6th.

That team was as close to rubbish as the team the following season was. We had a good defence, plus Leo Ulloa. That was largely it.

Of course it does - would you rather we have an injury to a winger and not have Skalak come in to replace him? or would you rather we are short and have to buy YET ANOTHER player?

All the Skalak and Hemed haters will have to wait until January at the earliest before there is any budget to replace them - if they haven't taken their chance in the PL.

Very much disagree. Ince was strong, powerful and liked a tackle. Add to that his occasional bursts of pace into the opposition's half made him very enjoyable to watch. His success that year doesn't come at the cost of Andrews' own. He had a good year. To say he didn't is just wrong IMO.

Oh and the team was nowhere near as bad under Oscar as it was under Sammi.

Tend to agree with you there, Andrews was like Bridge and Upson in my opinion in that that they bought into what we were trying to do and we got the last good season out of them.

He did however have a couple of decent games but generally he was very poor but became a darling for the fans because people said he had great potential which was something Chelsea never saw in him and released him. Div 1 is his level at best Lua Lua could make a top Div 1 side as he has far more to offer including flair which clubs need. As I said Portsmouth would suit both.

I agree, Ince seems to be making a career at Brighton from one impressive game v Arsenal 3 or so years ago

We see different things If he was perfect and never put a foot wrong he wouldn't have been released by Chelsea. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I stand by my assessment of Ince under Oscar, not perfect by any means but a strong, solid midfielder who played the role Oscar wanted him to, and he did it well.
